Post any interesting, funny, etc... fishing stories you've been through, seen, or heard about both in RL and on Gaia ^^
I love hearing fishing stories, and I have a few of my own but for right now I'm going to post my favorite xD.
My mom, brother, Aunt Evelyn, cousin Little James {r.i.p}, cousin Tina, second cousin Kaitlyn, Uncle James, and I went to Antlers, OK on a kind of vacation thing { wasn't much of one, lol } to my Uncle Jame's parent's house for some holiday or event, I can't remember. Probably Thanksgiving because ..anyways I'm rambling.
Well, they lived on a farming/ ranch type place with a lot of land and a whole mess of animals.
The women were cooking and the men and I decided while dinner was making, we were going to go fishing! They had a medium size pond in the pasture with the cattle.
Well none of us caught a flippn' thing but my brother, Chris! He caught 7 catfish { I think it was } ....and something a bit different. He casted out and had a hard time reeling in so we thought he was hung on something...but the line just would not give up and break! So he's trying to yank it and my Uncle James is behind him trying to help and they feel something pulling in so they thought well, it was just a big log or something. When they got it to shore, it wasn't a log 0.0. Apparently a calf had tried to swim or drink from the pond, and drowned and sunk to the bottom of the pond ... aaand my brother hooked him reeled him out.
He likes to brag that he went fishing and brought home fish and steak xD.

One time I was fishing somewhere... I forget. But anyways I caught a small fish and was reeling it in, I felt a huge tug on my line so I continued to reel it in. Well when I finally got it out of the water there was a large mouth bass on the hook. So I tried to get the hook out and when I finally did I saw a smaller fish hooked on the hook as well. Well about the time I got it out some park rangers were walking by and saw... then I got a ticket because they thought I was using live bait.

I haven't been real-world fishing in years. Local law requires that you buy a fishing license if you're 16 or over (I think 16 is the cutoff, anyway), and I'm too cheap to shell out the money for one (they're not expensive ... I just don't like spending money). So, I haven't gone fishing since I was a kid.
One summer while camping with my dad and sisters, we went out to the lake with our rods and some decent bait that a few neighbours donated to us. The only thing I caught was an old boot. I didn't think people actually caught old boots, and yet there it was. I ended up throwing it back ... I think it was boot spawning season.

Local law requires that you buy a fishing license if you're 16 or over (I think 16 is the cutoff, anyway), and I'm too cheap to shell out the money for one (they're not expensive ... Yeah in Oklahoma too they have a nice fine if you don't buy a fishing license, but I don't want to pay 35 effin dollars for one...so I just either go to private ponds/lakes, or hope I don't get caught ^^.
lmao, you threw it back?! xD I've gotten some weird stuff fishing from lakes too, a toaster, apparel, some kind of alarm, and I can't even remember it's been so long but me and my brother have reeled in some ... interesting home appliances heart

0.o I've had strange situations like that before, but I've never heard of fines for using live bait?! 0.<
