One creature that I know quite a bit about is a Kelpie. Known only to Muggles through Celtic legends and folklore, the Kelpie is shape-shifting creature that more than often takes the form of a horse. It is said to have a beautiful and alluring form, with a mane made of bulrushes, and uses this to its advantage to trick people into riding upon its back. Once it has successfully done so, a Kelpie will take its new meal into its home - the bottom of a river or lake in Britain or Ireland - where it devours it. The Kelpie leaves the entrails of it's victims to float to the surface. The most famous of it's kind is possibly the 'Loch Ness Monster" of Scotland. To tame a Kelpie, one should place a bridle around its head with a placement charm. My interest in this particular creature stems from the fact that a piece of one's bulrush tail resides in my wand.

I know only the basics of most other magical creatures - things I learn from growing up in the magical community. The Knarl is a beast that I never took much interest in, as they never lead me to want to. My research shows that they inhabit northern Europe and America. Their appearance is indistinguishable from a common hedgehog - however, their actions are not. Presenting a food to a hedgehog would not lead you to any harm, but Knarls find it to be trap, and destroy the gardens in which food would be left.

An animal that has been one I know quite a bit about, is the Unicorn. Who doesn't know something about the unicorn now a days though? Well, what I know is that they are usually docile creatures that you don't come across everytime you stroll around some forest.
While they are young, they are golden, and lighten as they age, to their normal, silvery white color. Normally they stay their golden hue until they are full grown. And one rather morbid fact to couple the cute foul Unicorn fact, is that unicorns blood can help you if you have sustained a major injury, or such. The only problem, is that it has some serious draw backs, and often times you have to continue to drink it.

One creature I know little about, is the Thestral. I myself cannot see them, but I have a hair of a thestral in my wand and would like to learn much more about them. I know they pull our carriages, and that they are very gentle, but have a scary demeanor. I'd like to learn about them more extensively, and perhaps find a way to see them with out having to see anyone die.
