A couple of years ago I had a great experience cosplaying my favourite Yu Yu Hakusho character ever, Kuronue. No one had a clue who I was... well save for this ONE girl dressed as Kurama. However people really seemed to like the outfit. I was called "The sex" on three seperate occasions. I think it's safe to assume now even if you're not a Yu Yu fan, Kuronue is hot.

Now sadly I didn't have a ton of time to work on this costume, so it doesn't look as good as it could. It's not the worst, but it's not the best either. However this year, I have all the time in the WORLD to work on it... So It's going to look fantastic. I have even bought a pair of leather pants for the occasion. Actually most of the new costume will be leather... Since I assume that is Kuronue's choice for clothing... I could be wrong, but in any case I have some great ways to make it look wicked. I promise to update with pictures of it when I get it all done.

The pendant is impossible to see in this shot so it looks like just a really goofy pose. I have a bigger one this time around

The Kurama plushie has also been omitted! Uhg, such horror stories of that little thing!

Now someone else on this site told me they had cosplayed Kuronue... I wanna see pictures! OMG... I love seeing other cosplays, please, if you have them, post them here! *puppy dog eyes*

*wilts*Im sorry I cannot put them up another guild memeber is in the picture and I doubt she wants it on the guild and i cannot edit it I`ll cosplay as him next meeting though and get some pictures!^^

It was deceivingly simple actually. I only put in maybe like... 3 hours of work. The only crappy part was wearing double sided tape on my arms. OUCH.

I used cloth for the arm wraps with velcro (which kept coming off><) the hat was a witched hat we mutilated we also did the same with a nice t-shirt and I wore a white tank top underneath. I wore black shoes because the only boots I have are brown. I had black leg warmers, the clasp on the hat was made out of cardboard as was my scythes (which fell apart.) and we also mutilated a white skirt and attempted to dye my hair black but it didn't work. xd

My visor is going to be a base for a new design. Basically I am going to remove those stupid beads and cover the whole thing in cloth so it's not shiny anymore and make the buckle out of gold painted femo. Then I am going to make the vest out of leather and the pants as well. Then it'll be leg warmers and boots. Those shoes were a bad idea since I did have boots and they looked like s**t. I am not sure if I will try to make scythes or not. I might...

You made that!? OMG! That was the best Kuronue outfit I've seen! and I've seen a lot of them due to the many hours that I often spend online looking for new Kuronue pics. I think that the only reason why people didn't know who you were was 'cuz you're a girl, and Kuronue probably doesn't carry around a Kurama plushi (and if he did, it was probably Yöko). It's still an awesome outfit though! ^_^

Not to toot my own horn... but yeah, I know it's one of the best Kuronue outfits out there. I've scowered the internet for cosplay pictures of Kuronue and so many times I see the most basic mistakes. -_- It makes me a little upset sometimes because I know it was just laziness most of the time. I am also upset because I know that's not even the best *I* can do... that was made in about 2 days in complete haste. When I do the costume again the pants and vest AND hat are going to be pleather. I am also changing one of the belts and the buckle on the hat... I really don't know what I was thinking with those beads... and of course the Shuichi plush is going too... That thing has a perverted spirit in it I swear ><.
I can understand what you mean about why people wouldn't recognize me too... and I would have had a Youko plush... but those are so hard to find ;_;

All I can do is hope that it turns out better this year. I am going to use it again and yeah it is going to be completely pleather, I have almost everything. *Excited squeal* So the beads are coming off the visor and I am going to cover it in pleather then buy a proper looking buckle and some deep gray ribbon to go around it to make it look like an acutal buckle around the hat.
I promise to put up the new pictures ^^

I finally have everything I need now! *Bounces excitedly.* I am just in the process of cutting up the vest and covering the hat. It's almost finished! *Dances*
