I've always had a special place in my heart for the Ruins of Alph, probably because of how my friends and I would run around in the mountains by my house and pretend to be citizens of the long-gone civilization in our young'un days. Maybe it was spawned from that, or maybe it came from when I was a sleep-deprived 9-year-old sitting in the airport in the wee-hours of the morning, waiting with my brother for my dad to get our stuff from baggage claim, when i stumbled across the Water Chamber. Maybe it was because I came from a siblinghood of history nerds. Whatever the reason, I've always loved Alph.
Moreso than my love of it is my curiosity about its mysteries. Although in Crystal, the chambers were added and there seemed to be a huge Unown theme as well as a connection with Suicune and the Unown, it seems to me that they didn't use the mystery of Alph as much as they could have.
I've had bouts on and off where I do some super-focused attempts at solving the mystery, but they generally last about an hour. Probably the thing that intrigues me the most about the Unown messages is how they refer to themselves as humans.
Another point that has interested me is the Tanoby Ruins, as well as the Zui(Solaceon) Ruins. While the Tanoby ruins came up with generally nothing new to add to the mystery, I'm looking forward to the english release of D/P solely for the new unown message-
"Friend,
subete no inochi ha betsu no inochi to deai nanika wo umidasu."
Which I've seen translated as..
"Friend,
All life produces whether it turns out for other life."
Obviously, it's a bit hazy, due to the rough translation- so I'm hoping the English release will clear that up for me. And then I'll be off and away, on another two-hour mystery-solving spree.
So, uh..... Discuss theories/facts/etc? D:

Well, on an interesting not my brother has been trying to solve the mystery of the unkown for ages, and we have unloacked all puzzles except for one, because you have unloacked them all I ask you:
How do you solve the tablet that says "Water" on it?
I swear we've tried almost everything :3
Anyways, I know how you feel. I myself until recently didn't care form the unkown but my brother...well, he likes to solve Pokemon mysteries.
I'll be sure to inform him of the new message by the unkown. :3
Oh. The ruins are diring us crazy by the way.
Especialy the chamber were you move the boulders and it's like:
"there was a rumble in the distance"
...what? gonk
Anyways, you'd have to talk to my brother about the unkown thing, he is the person with all of the theories here...not me.

the problem is... we brain-farted on how to get the elemental stones o__O; (hey, it's been like...3 years!)

I remember writing the codes to the unown passages. XD I remember getting frustrated over everything even when I had the guidebook.

I remember the Unown quite well...I spent a lot of a vacation trying to catch them all on my Crystal. I wrote down the words that were put bellow the Unown when on your Unown-Dex. I even copied every one of the four phrases there were...and I saved them all...so if one of you guys send me a pm to remind me...that'd be great!
I'm also looking up the new mystery on D/P, but I've only seen a tiny bit, and didn't have time to translate the text.
