An rich american man has financed the crossbreeding of a mare and a hippopotamus. The first bady of this new species called "ziphorse" is born in secret in a laboratory. It is called Zippy and was introduced to the international press last month. It has allready managed to dive very deep. Like its father it can close nostrils and its ears. The aim is to create an animal which could help sea rescuers. It's very incredible!

It's true that it seems very strange and I'm not really sure it's the truth but I've read it in a magazine about horses.

You don't need to see any articles, because if they exist at all they're definately a joke.
You can't cross-breed two totally different mammals, no matter how much money you have to spend.
Even if a hippo-horse did exist, it probably couldn't help sea rescuers in the first place. Hippos don't even swim well. They float and when underwater they walk along the bottom. Hippos don't live in very deep water.
Hippos are also super dangerous.
I can't imagine a hippo-horse would be able to help with sea rescues if it did exist.
It's probably a lame joke.

Hippopotamus means "river horse." Maybe someone got confused about the name.

Yeah i don't see why we don't ahve any proof, and anyway, if this were real...it would be ALL over the news, doncha think...i mean, this is getting into pretty hefty stuff.
