The entire title for this thread is "DestinyBondShipping: Gardevoir & Gengar (SPOILERS FOR MYSTERY DUNGEON!)" however, the entire title couldn't fit here.
As for the two Pokemon spiecies as a whole, it's a bit up in the air for me, I'm not huge on Pokemn x Pokemon relationships. However, when you take Mystery Dungeon into account, that's when things change a bit. (This is were the spoilers come into effect!)
Because there is no name for "Gardevoir & her original trainer who abandoned her" I went with the next best thing: because her trainer was re-incarnated as a Gengar. I really like this pairing (I may add it as one of my "OTP's") for a few reasons:
I think the most notable one is how Gardevoir still thinks of her former trainer so fondly, even though she admits that he really wasn't a nice person "In truth he really wasn't a nice person, but he had his quirks!" also, she feels absolutely no resentment about how he ran away after she protected him from ninetails curse.
And then there is Gengar. Is he the nicest of people? Not really, but he really isn't "evil" per say either. He (was) just a kid who liked to stir up trouble, a prankster if you will. When Gengar spies on your dreams and he see's how Gardevoir laments over her friendship that seems lost he actualy runs away crying. 'Tis very sad indeed. In the end he confesses that he didn't want to abandon Gardevoir, but he was terrified at the time and how he regrets his decision.
Although there is a strong bond between humans and Pokemon, I think that their affection towards eachother exceeds that bond, especialy because this affection still continues, even after ninetails had pt a curse of Gardevoir and her trainer "abandoned" her and wasn't a really nice person to begin with.

meh. I thougt she was jsut being nice, but I could see how thye may have had some romantic notion for each other. Personly, however, that doesnt strike me as a great pairing. lol (stupid smileys dont have the true expresion I want, but this one is close)
