Chuguu stared into the sunset that had been changing slightly every day in her little group's travel. Her mind wandering to the wonderous memories of the sights from her home. She was tired of the everchanging scenery. "It wouldn't be so bad if there was someone to share the sights with," she whispered to the empty savanah she was watching. The group of lions that were the only part of her home that she had been traveling with for quite some time rested not far in a small gathering of trees. They weren't in her line of sight but she could smell their scent from her vantage point. She would protect them as well as help them on their way as much as she could even though her mind wasn't as focused as it should have been as her thoughts decided to take a trip down memory lane, her eyes mechanically scanning the surroundings.

Alone... Alone... Alone... Moyenda was alone. It had been at least a fortnight since he had seen his niece or his travelling companion when they went off so that Iola could learn how to hunt. Neither had returned. One of the things he had wanted most was to feel important and wanted. The pain had been minimal when he had come here and subsided when they had been here. But now it was very real.
He picked up his paws, one after the other, his eyes focused on the ground. He made a quick prayer to whatever god was listening to make his day better. The sun was on the horizon which meant there wasn't much daytime left but somehow he managed to hope. Slowly, he lifted his head to look around. There. Not very far away. ...He was not alone?

Chuguu's thoughts stilled, her nose twitched. There was a scent on the wind that was not something that had been there just a moment before. Her revery was quickly put on hold. Her gaze scanned her surroundings looking for the source of this new scent.
Her eyes caught sight of a lion walking across the tall grasses. From his posture he didn't seem to pose any threat. He seemed so lost that her heart almost wanted to reach out to him. Her huntress' training drilled into her to be wary of all those that was unknown to her though and for the moment her trained mind won out.

Although Mo had long since learned to be wary and cautious, his desire for company drew him irrevicably closer. That it might be dangerous, he could not recognize. He was like a plane stuck on autopilot. He knew he should say something - anything - but he knew not what to say.
At last although it was the oddest thing he could perhaps say in such a situation, his lips formed the words and his vocal cords made them real. "Hello."

Chuguu stared for a moment more. "This lion was no threat. He doesn't seem to have an agressive of someone who means us harm." she thought to herself.
"Hello," she cocked her head to the side is slight confusion but there was no wariness in her voice any longer. Chu wasn't sure exactly why he didn't say anything more. "What is a sensible lion doing still wandering this late in the evening?"

He smiled slightly and came up until he was only a few feet away, keeping a respectable distance. "For one such as myself, there is no place to stop. I have nothing to keep me in one place." His speech was ackward and not necessarily revealing but his mood was not one he was accustomed to. He almost asked her a question along the same lines. She did not seem like the type who would be by herself, that if she was in the roguelands at all, it'd at least be in the comfort of companions.
He flicked his tail slightly. He had been used to silence but now that he was not alone, if only for now, silence was ackward. Mo glanced at the setting sun and stuck his face into the gentle breeze. It would only be brief and the night would be warm, he was sure. "Looks like it'll be a nice night tonight."

Chuguu was unsure what exactly he meant. "Even rouges need to rest. As you say the night looks like it will be a wonderous one. Surely it would be a good one to lay under the stars if not to sleep," she smiled trying to give a bit of a hint. She may be a huntress but being left alone to watch the unchanging scenery was not her favorite part by far.
She couldn't help but to look into his eyes. "Well stranger, is there a name you go by?"

"Yes, that's true. I suppose it's just because I'm used to having someone to tell me when to rest and the like rather than making the decision myself. Not very masculine of me, I'm sure," he said, trying not to frown.
Mo didn't realize he was tense until he relaxed. Her question about his name could not surely be anything but an act of friendship, if not something similar. He unconsciously edged closer as if the side of his brain that acted first, thought later was trying to pursue the warmth of another being. "My name is Moyenda although you can call me Mo if you'd like. May I ask what your's is?"

"It's not necessairly unmasculine, just a bit dependent. Anyone could be dependent on another to a point," she commented after looking him over a bit. He certainly seemed masculine.
"Well Mo my name's Chuguu. You can call me Chu. Not Guu though I mean I don't want to be called something that you definatly don't want to step in," she said with a little chuckle at ther joke. She sat relaxing unconsiously herself. It was something that doesn't happen often out in the new places that her little group ended up in.

Mo smiled slightly. He wagged his tail to one side and then back again. "So what brings you out here?" he said, asking the question he had meant to ask earlier. She seemed like the type of lion to belong to a pride, not someone who'd be a rogue like him. If so, he was pretty sure - although not entirely - that there wasn't a pride nearby unless without realizing it, he had wandered into one. If so, that could be pretty dangerous. She might not be violent towards him but that didn't mean he'd get the same curtosy from another.

Chu's smile dimmed as her thoughts came back to her wandering travels. "Well I'm trying to find my way home. Not just me, but a group of others are resting at the moment. I was on watch when you came by." She made a point to give the horizon a once over so that she wouldn't be accused later of being distracted if something happened.
For some reason she couldn't stop her mouth when it kept rattling the rest of her little story. "We had to leave so that the heir or her children wouldn't fall to the plauge. The poor things have grown up while we've traveled. We've been lost for quite a long time and can't find our way back to the Mteo'Nyungu lands." She tried to bring a lighter air back to the conversation. "So no worries. You won't be run off anyone's territory."

So he hadn't been wrong. She belonged somewhere. She had a home. She wasn't alone.
"Sorry you can't find your home. And sorry for disturbing your watch." She had been rather nice to him the past couple minutes but maybe it was because she was too nice to tell him to leave. But he didn't want to be alone. He would have to go off eventually but he hoped to put it off. So, at the risk of being rude, he waited to see if she would ask him to leave.
He had left his home because of the wasting sickness and then, still a cub, was abandoned by his siblings who were almost adolescents. ...then met his niece and a juvenile who made him feel wanted ...and then they left him too. He wished he had her life. She had a goal and it seemed, a purpose. He wanted that. But currently he felt he had none. Mo realized he was rambling to himself, even if only in his head and tried not to think so hard least he miss something she would say.

Chuguu watched him as there seemed to be something that he was thinking quite hard about. There was emotion on his face that he surely didn't know about since most wouldn't show this much to someone newly met.
"There is no reason to be sorry. Things happen. Though I do greatly want to go home, if we had never left there is a good chance none of use would be here at all." After a moment Chu looked down to her paws. She wanted to ask him to stay. She hated to sit alone with nothing more to look at than the surroundings. It was very rare for anything to happen while she was on watch.
"And you didn't really disturb me. Talking to you is much more entertaining than staring at the sunset all alone," she said almost shyly. "It can be very boring to sit here alone for so long."

"It's good to know I didn't bother you. I'd hate to do so," he said. Had he been human, he probably would've ran a hand through his hand. He nodded at her comment about being alone. When he was alone more so than with others, he reminised and not a happy reminising either. He did less of that in the company of someone else. It was comfortably distracting. "I'm glad that I have eased your boredom, even if only a little. Do you mind if I stay for a bit?"

Chuguu's face brightened a bit at his question. "I wouldn't mind one bit. Actually I think I may even appreciate the company." Chu had been missing the feeling of family greatly since they realised that they were too lost to find their way home easily.
Something in her made the feeling of lonliness ease when he came into her line of sight and became a quick companion. For some reason she couldn't understand she knew that they both needed him to stay for their own peace of mind.
