I have a question. I've looked in the fishing forums and I've seen topics on "bait degrading". And I don't quite seem to know how it works. Can you explain?

The only thing i know on this is that Grade f is not good after 5 buckets and bait degrading resets every twelve hours that you dont fish

I know there is a really good thread on this somewhere i can find it I'll come back and post it for you!

Some people call it the bait bonus, every 12 hours whatever grade fish bait you use will get a boost in its grade, from what I've heard, F bait will act as D bait, D bait will act as A, and if you're using A bait it should be increased dramaticly I believe, sometimes even causing a lucky bucket. A lucky bucket will most likely have a rare fish in it somewhere, usually in the first row, if you have the experience to catch it. The bait bonus lasts for about five buckets most of the time.

Okay, 12 hours reset.

After 12 hours after you last fished, the first TWO Grade Fs you use will be just like A bait, and the next three will act as Grade Ds. If you use Grade Ds for the last three of the five, it will act as Grade A.

And Grade A will always be grade A.

It only lasts for 5 baits, after that, everything is back to normal.

P.S.

While, Grade F might act as Grade A for the first 2 baits after the 12 hour reset, you will still not be able to get a Rare with it. Only Grades A and F will have the chance to get a Rare (1/5000).

Ah, I see. The way I had it inturpreted is that each time you use a certain type of bait it will gradually "degrade" and cause you to catch more junk. Though the way you guys explained it helped a lot. Thank you.

another interesting thing is, after the 5 reset buckets, the next 5 buckets you should filter. The reason why is htis: the first 5 buckets after reset tend to have the most trash than say like the 6th bucket after reset.

so here's an idea--->
1) reset buckets are 1-5, fish them how you want how you want
2) filter buckets 6-10 (if you can)
3) fish how you want again

I've got a quick question about rod upgrades: how much of a difference do they actually make?
I currently use a performance rod, which was generously donated to me by my younger sister. Anyway, the upgraded version retails for 12500 gold. I'm just trying to figure out if it's really worth saving up that much.
If anyone has any idea, their input would be highly appreciated.

If you are a serious fisher you should have an upgraded rod. It gives you better distance better lines. Some people are so great at fishing they dont need it like this one guy won a trophy at durem using a basic rod.

Thanks for the input, Lord. I appreciate it. I think in the short-term I'm going to keep my plain ol' performance rod, but in the future I'll likely spring for the upgrade.
Anyway, thanks for the reply.
