I took the liberty of making an IRC channel for the guild. So, uh, if you're hip to the IRC action and want to hang out with guild members in REAL TIME chat, stop by. If your web browser already has IRC client integration, then feel free to click on the link to #anarchy on SlashNET. For those of the old school among us, the server is irc.oftc.net, and the channel is #anarchy. Windows IRC client: Hydra IRCMac/Linux IRC client: XChat

oh man, I haven't been on IRC in years. I'll have to get in on this later.
when will folx usually been in? nothing sucks as bad as going into an empty IRC chat.

I'm usually online between 1am - 3 am eastern, and occasionally between 1pm - 3pm. I probably have irssi minimized, but I have this handy script that gives me a notification on the desktop if someone says fami or famicommie. So, uh, just use the word "fami" in a sentence and I will respond as long as I am not afk.

That would've been a problem on Slashnet's part. I switched the server to OFTC since I'm on there for other IRC purposes anyways.
Here are the tricks to establishing a successful IRC existence:
1. Whenever you are at a computer, be logged into IRC
2. If possible, allow your client to idle in IRC channels even when you aren't at a computer.
Another possiblity would be to plan discussions at specific dates/times, and invite anyone interested to take part. Online reading circles, online awareness classes, or online "whatever-it-is-you-like-to-do".
