Races of this world
PostPosted: Wed Apr 11, 2007 9:39 pm

....Humans: Humans the oldest native being from earth in this plane of existence. There two decedents are the Lycanthrope and the Vampires. Humans are very complex and confusing creatures, being rash, emotional, and down right destructive to everything they come in contact with and that stretches to everything even to them self. The human race almost went extinct during the uprising of the Lycanthrope though you wouldn’t find that in any history book. Only a few years after the defeat of the Lycans with help of the witches, warlock, and Elves, the humans began striking back at the Vamps and Lycans with their hunters, driving them both into hiding finding it easier to exist and hunt in the night’s shadow. In the more modern centauries starting mainly in the early ninth century the human race began to descend again as a dominate race laying down there swords and picking up a book and began learning how things work, the age of science. Humans began declaring the olds text s fake of myths. In the past century humans turned the uncontrollable lust for violence on themselves. Human began large scale wars on other humans around the war inventing new weapons of mass destruction and devastating poisons and viruses.

Since the Source took appeared Humanity with all it glorious weapons and technology were almost completely useless against the invading creatures that hadn’t been seen on earth since times of old, The Orcish Hoard along the endless Legions of Undead, whose numbers had swollen from recent human wars and sickness. Now with all the nations on the verge of devastation the humans have flocked to large cities living in nearly unlivable conditions. Many and resurrected the old teaching of magic becoming sorcerer and sorceress and bring back the way of the sword while others still cling to newer ways like guns and explosives. It is whispered that some have even joined the Source and are infiltrating the last remaining cities and human strong holds. Though most humans fear the other races like Elves and Witches other embrace them and the help they bring.

Vampires are a charismatic race living the term ‘All the world is a stage to its full’ meaning of the phrase. They can be very dramatic demanding the attention of everything in the room. They set up entrances like stages made just for them. Some Vampiric wars were started from the lack of acknowledgement of an Elder Vampires as he entered the room. The Vamps use the same weapons as humans, swords and in more modern ears guns; but always relying on their natural powers such as mind control using pheromones to weaken the mind, their super human strength, speed, and many other natural graces. The Vampire race is not known for its loyalty. The entire history is filled with betrayal, clan betraying other clans, sons betraying fathers, and so on. In the world of the seemingly immortal race no one can be trusted. Vampires once ruled all of the land control Lycans as their running dogs and humans and nothing more then a meal. Their rain lasted for many centuries until the uprising. Since the unwilling release of their servants they have gone into a slight seclusion rarely communicating with other races the Lycanthropes most of all.

Since the Source appeared Vampires haven’t changed much still maintaining their secretive ways only now they fight to keep their foods supply alive, they find Elf Blood a rare delicacies. There is an outpost created and controlled by the Vamps familiars and Vamps themselves the only condition and staying at these well protected outposts is the sacrifice of a single human a week.

Lycanthropes are a primal race very territorial very brutal, and an above all prideful to anyone who would dare disrespect them Alpha is god/goddess in Lycanthrope pack life. To a Lycan respect is a most, you never step out of bonds unless you wish to challenge authority and that always end in blood shed. There is no betrayal among the Lycans all matter disputes are settled openly in front of the pack. A major downfall to this territorial society is there is no lead power, no unity, not since the great uprising, not since the up rising. The up rising was a time when a Lycanthrope whose name remains immortal, Lucian, he used an unknown source to acquire an artifact now referred to as the Focus. It allowed the Lycanthropes to supernaturally put aside their internal differences and banded together under Lucian to take on the Vampires. Unlike Vampires who are able to create more by a bite, the Lycanthropes can only be made through birth that was until the Focus came along it gave all Lycanthrope that banded together the ability to bite and change the bitten creature into a Lycanthrope. The most commonly seen Lycanthrope was that of the sub race of a wolf that’s how the Lycanthrope got its name Lycan is Latina for wolf though there is a sub race inside Lycanthrope for nearly ever animal though most were killed off early on the only surviving races are the stronger races like the K-9, felines, and rodents to name a few. The Lycanthropes rarely use human inspired weapons they use their own strength, claws, and teeth, not to mention animal forms.

Since the Source appeared Lycanthropes have fought nearly countless bodies to maintain there territory loosing most of it and invading other packs territory or merging with them. Many packs have been set of giving up their land and searching the world for the Focus.

Fairies are very noble and mischievous by nature and above all dangerous Fairies have always been nearly unstoppable by the larger inhabitance of the world even the lightening fast Vampires have trouble keeping up with them. They’ve been hired as assassins and spies being hired for great fees. Fairies are pure magical energy embodied since such little is known about the Fairies there is no telling how long they live; but it is guessed fifteen years just like the more friendly pixies. The only race they’ve ever assorted with closely was the Wizards who died out in First attempt on Ever After. The only facts known about them are they are roughly to four inches tall human like with butterfly like wings, their early weapons were swords and sling shots due to modern inventions they began using a weapon all a splat guns they spit out small orbs of ooze that cause large blistering wounds despite its small size though they have never put down their little swords. They are also known for living in trees and gardens to be close to their food, insects.

Witches and warlocks are human like in appearance; but that’s it their biology they live on average of a hundred and twenty years old though like humans there are cases of Witches or Warlocks living quite longer. Warlocks are like a lower rank of witches. Warlock is the title they are given at birth Warlock they must work up to. Witches are very feared and powerful not seeming to be a strong power; but that’s only because they have never really unitized. Before they were mistaken for Sorcerers or Sorceresses; but they take it as a high insult since humans practicing magic is something they laugh at. Witches and Warlocks can be both male and female unlike they have been portrayed in human movies and some writing. The myths of them throwing fireballs from their hands are far off, well almost. The witches they could perform such feats are Ley Line witches and they weren’t fire balls, but pure Ever After energy though that’s not all they can invoke circle of protections along with other spells. There are many sub class under the term Witch/Warlock that are too numerous to go into detail. Though they are all use charms for their magic, aside from Ley Line witches, and many associate with demons for knowledge or, very much envied among witches and all races alike, demon curses. Demon curses are nothing more then more faster powerful forms of witches charms though invoking them have very black side affects on the soul making the black with evil damning the eternal soul.

Since the Source appeared the Witches and Warlocks have fought along side humans, being the must accepted by humans for obvious reasons. They have obtained positions of power among human ranks and some have even started their own small armies to fight back at The Source, and as the sayings go bigger is not always better because a small army of witches and strikes fear into a knowledgeable enemy then the large human army. Many others have sold there charms to other races. As all races know it will not be long before they must take The Source on head on and this will be a lot harder then last time especially since the Wizards are gone

Elves are a graceful, noble, diverse race that is on the brink of extinction. Some may find that hard to believe since the Elves are immortal age wise; but that is only because of the Well of Eternity, now that its power is cut off they are once again mortal.
The elves were once were a mighty thriving race thought to be only high elves and Blood elves since Night Elves were mostly forgotten by time. The Blood Elves are a small group of High Elves who were exiled and slowly formed the sub race known as Blood Elves. Though that was many centuries in Ever After in recent decades on earth no Elf has stayed under the sliming power of the High Elves. The down fall of Elf kind elves began when they breeding with humans on a large scales to swell their numbers; but this had some nasty side affects shortening their life span dramatically as well as allowing them to become venerable to human viruses namely the human made virus known as the Tomato virus since it was hidden in tomatoes on shipments until as normal humans do, mess up, and the package was sent to a normal store and was sold off killing millions of human and half elves alike, this all happened at the peak of the Turn and that’s what put them on the brink of extinction the only ones who are still alive are those who refused to inner mingle so closely with humans.

The High elves or quel'dorei ("Children of Noble Birth": are a race descended from the highborn Night elves they self claim themselves as the superior race of elves that are the strongest in arcane magic only tied by their closet cousins, Blood Elves. They like all elves were hurt by their cut off from Ever After and the Well of Eternity, that is all expect the Blood Elves who have their own well they made from stolen water and made the Sun Well, they refuse to share with their cousins.

The high elves are taller and slimmer than humans, being over 6 feet in height on average and weighing 100-175 pounds. They have white to flaxen colored hair and skin, with brilliantly intense colored eyes that seem to glow with an inner light. While many high elves have blue or green eyes, green eyes mean they have converted to Blood Elves. They reach adulthood at 110 years, a "venerable" age at roughly 350 years, but that was before the cut off now their age range is much like the Witches only 120. Most high elves do not wear red or black for fear of be mistaken as Blood Elves. The high elves have shorter ears and a much smaller and lighter body than Night elves. Typical high elves have long blonde, white or brown hair and brilliant blue or green eyes. Their skin, in comparison to Blood Elves is slightly paler.

The Blood elves, or Sin'dorei ("Children of the Blood”), are a race comprised of former high elves who renamed themselves in honor of their people that were killed during the siege of The Source. The blood elves of have easily adapted to life on earth over the years like the High Elves though they still hold their distance from most other races, they find themselves drawn to other wielders of magic just like their cousins. Their capital is Silver moon City situated in the Ever song Woods, the heart of their demon claimed homeland.

Since The Source has appeared they have done a lot like the Night Elves have done gone into Seclusion as they rebuild there power and prepare to take on The Source again, though this time it will be a lot harder with out the Wizards.

Ten thousand years ago, during the reign of the Night elf, Queen Azshara, there was an elite magic-using sect known as the, Highborn, that which dabbled in magic that many other elves considered heretical by drawing upon the power of the Well of Eternity. During the Invasion of The Source, most were fiercely loyal to Queen Azshara, but a small group of them realized the dangers of their association with the, The Source, and defected to the Kaldorei Resistance. Some time after the Great Sundering, in the Well reshaped their world; most of the surviving Highborn left Kalimdor and settled on the Eastern Continent, founding the kingdom of Quel'Thalas. They became known as the high elves. During this time, they created the Sun well, and switched to a diurnal waking cycle, instead of the nocturnal cycle they had kept when they were night elves. Their purple skin eventually faded to a pale peach color, like that of the humans.
During The invasion, Prince Arthas, a upper ranking member in the Sources army led his army of the undead against them, ravaging Quel'Thalas and almost corrupting the Sun well; but a large battle was fought to move a large amount of Sun well water to a safe location the rest, sadly, was lost. Most of what was left of Quel’Thalas was burned down by the high elves

Unlike their night elf cousins, blood elves have pink or pale flesh tones. Their exposure to the light of day and the power of the Sun well may have altered their skin's pigment. Blood elves also have a slim athletic body, long pointy ears, acute senses and keen sight in the darkness. Night elves have long, slanted ears while blood elves' ears are shorter and tend to point upwards. See High elf for a more complete description.
In the time that the Blood Elves came over they began to take up wearing red and black in memorial of their lost empire and brethren. They also adopted hair styles against the norms of their previous high elf society and painted runes on their bodies to ward off demons or to simply look threatening. They feed on mana from mainly fel, and recently arcane, and divine sources. The reliance on fel magic causes the eyes of blood elves to glow green with demonic fire; (debatable, since High Elves have said to also have green eyes from other sources); the more they use fel magic, the brighter the glow. It is a slight evolution from their High Elven cousins, and in time they may become as distant to high elves, as satyrs are to night elves. This readily available source of energy also tends to give blood elves a ruddy look compared to their quel'dorei brethren, nevertheless when approaching Alliance town’s blood elves would often disguise themselves as high elves to avoid harm.
It was said that although blood elves show some physical differences compared to high elves, blood elves and high elves are exactly the same biological race. It is also said that blood elf race is starting evolve away from high elves due to use and consumption of fel magic.

The Night elves, or kaldorei, meaning "Children of the Stars" in their native tongue, have a fascinating history.

At the beginning of the world now known as Ever After, the god-like Titans created a magical well, dubbed the Well of Eternity, by the kaldorei, or night elves. Over time, it had become the source of their power, wisdom, and immortality. This immense source of mystical energy shone like a beacon throughout the world, eventually claiming the attention of The Source and want to use well’s for as its self own.
Thus began the corruption of the kaldorei. Posing as a venerable god, The Source managed to contact the most powerful of all the elves, Azshara. The Source convinced Azshara, and her most loyal assistant, Counselor Xavius, to open a gateway to Ever After that this almighty "god" might come forth and bless their whole race (meanwhile eradicating all races deemed "unworthy"). In their insolence, those born to nobility, the Highborn, sought to use and control this source of unimaginable power and unspeakable evil; and for their pride, they were consumed by the magic they so eagerly wished to wield.
As the portal into the mortal world grew larger, The Source sent ever more numerous "emissaries" to aid with the portal and brings the word of their god from the beyond. These demons were members of The Source’s immortal army, known as the Undead Legion, and they had put to the flame countless worlds throughout the void. As the portal grew close to its completion to allow the Dark Titan entry to Ever After, a small band of kaldorei led by Malfurion Stormrage, the first druid, realized the threat posed to their entire world by this nameless evil and the now-crazed Azshara. Realizing his seemingly imminent victory could be threatened by these few elves, The Source commanded that his Legion make war upon Ever After and destroy the unworthy, which included the entirety of the kaldorei race.
As war raged across the young world, many protectors of the world emerged to aid the young Malfurion Stormrage in closing this portal to the world and the malevolence which now stood poised to destroy them all. The demi-god Cenarius, the ancients, and the powerful Witches, wizards, and warlocks clashed head on with the advancing legion. Having learned much about the power and beauty of Nature from his Shan’ do Cenarius, Malfurion was able to disrupt the nearly completed portal spell and close his world off from the invincible The Source.
With so much power in flux, the Well of Eternity let out a powerful wave of magic, sending untold numbers to their doom. Many kaldorei were dragged to the bottom of the sea, only to be twisted and transformed into the sea serpents now known as the vile naga. The catastrophe tore the continent apart into three sections.
With the majority of the Highborn dead, the kaldorei turned away from their arcane legacy and began a new culture focusing on attunement with nature and their surroundings. The surviving Highborn tried to assimilate into the new druidic society, but over time they could not ignore the burning addiction to magic their whole race suffered from. The Highborn (now calling themselves High elves), led by Dath'Remar, left Kalimdor, sailing across the sea to the other, newly-formed continent. Here, they established the nation of Quel'Thalas. The night elves, as they now called themselves, settled into their new culture, living as closely to the land and its inhabitants as possible. In time, they were granted a chance to continue as immortals when the World Tree, Nordrassil, was planted on Mount Hyjal with the water from the well of the Well of Eternity. For untold ages, their civilization flourished, forgotten by the centuries.
Unlike the High Elves and Blood Elves they never left Ever After but were forced out into Earth they are still very new and trying to adapt. They stay secluded in varies forest around earth, they brought with them from Ever After the living trees including the Tree of Life. With the interdiction of the Tree of life into our Eco system many other trees of native origin came to life as well. They’ve done their best to keep themselves hidden and away from all other races.

Wizards are though to be gone; but that is not completely true there is a small handful that work nonstop in hiding to resurrect there fallen race. Wizards were once the most ferric and powerful race in Ever After; but it was their own power that was their down fall. Knowing if the Wizards found at his plots he’d quickly be foiled, while still posing as a “god”, The Source had his followers killed off and by the time the Wizards commander, Merlin, knew what was happening they were too few to do anything. Now these being of almost god like power bind their time and hopes of soon renewing their seat as most powerful. They have enlisted the help of The Horde members who got away; but only the higher ups in the Horde know of them and they are all sworn to silence about the fact that Wizards still live.

Pixies are the Ever After version of Fairies; they are respectable, stubborn, and dangerous. A pixie just like a Fairy is not something to be taken likely. The Pixies came to Earth long before any other race was jumping planes from the very beginning the Pixies and Fairies have had problems. Normally over small things The Fairies for like a Fairy will destroy a garden in search of bugs to eat while Pixies do all they can to grow plant and gardens to feed of its sap or nectar so they hate each other over that when biologically and powers they are virtually the same. There outer appearance is far different as well having bluish skin and dragon fly wings. Pixies are just as deadly as Fairies and they would be considered a bigger treat if thy lived for more the fifteen years.
