95 years ago, -about- 1316 passengers, and 913 crew members (-about-2229 in all), boarded the unsinkable ship of dreams, the TITANIC. They were the first ones (and last...) to experience the glamorous ship. The first ones to sleep in the sheets, look into the mirrors, and use the silverware. But, of course, we know that the story doesn't end there. After the first class men chatted and smoked cigars, first class women dressed in their best, after second class strolled along the decks, after third class danced below... After all the money spent, after all the descrimination, and love among the people. 2 days passed after they boarded the ship on April 10th 1912, a tragedy accured. 713 people survived to see the Statue of Liberty in New York. Yes, a lot was lost through the tragedy, but a lot was found as well. For instance, a lot of people wouldn't have met, which brings me to the 1997 movie that I know you all are waiting for me to mention...
Jack: "Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me... it brought me to you. And I'm thankful for that, Rose. I'm thankful. You must do me this honor, Rose. Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise. "
Old Rose: "1,500 people went into the sea... when Titanic sank from under us... there were twenty boats floating nearby... and only one came back. Six were saved from the water... myself included. *Six*. Out of 1,500. Afterward, the 700 people in the boats had nothing to do but wait... wait to die... wait to live... wait for an absolution... that would never come. "

Please enjoy this big event, and remember what it is truly about...
...It is about all 2229 people, and the ship of dreams herself.
(Passenger
and crew chart.)
P.S.
I posted the event before the 14th, because at this point in time, 95 years ago, the TITANIC was already on the ocean. heart
