Some kids at the bus stop a block away this morning got into a fight. Woke the 3 year old up they were that loud. So I give it a moment then hear it start up again. They aren't going to work this one out on their own and I walk down to the bus stop and inform them that not only is fighting before school not a good thing but now they pissed me off because they woke my sick kid up. (He's been running a fever of 104 since yesterday). (I didn't say pissed though lol). The one kid gets all "WELL HE STARTED IT!" at which point I said "I saw YOU kicking. Now if I have to call your principal, who do you think will get in trouble? I suggest you keep your feet to yourself."
Ok kids fight often. No biggie, but the clinker is there was a parent sitting in their car watching the whole thing go down. All the way up the block I hear "KICK HIM IN THE HEAD! KICK HIM IN THE HEAD! AGAIN AGAIN!" and I hear the cries of the poor kid. And this adult could have stopped it and didn't. I wish I got his licence plate number. I probably would have called the cops on him for just sitting there and allowing these kids to fight at the bus stop. In this state most schools have a no tolerance rule so fighting is an automatic expulsion. I wonder what the rules are in this district. Not that I want the kids to get expelled, but I do think perhaps a little anger management assemblies might be in order.

Wow! eek I can't believe that an adult would sit there and not even try to stop it! scream That is just horrible! mad I'm glad you were there to stop those kids from really hurting themselves sweatdrop . I also agree, there should be some type of way to let the school know what happened, so they can resolve the matter. Expelling the children won't help the issue, it just covers it up.

Ok I called the principal. I told her I didn't want to get kids in trouble and I didn't know the children's names. I could describe them according to hair color and what not but it was just a conglomeration of kids for the most part. I did remember the kid I saw kicking though and told her he had a bowl cut and ash blond hair. (At least I think it was a he. Those bowl cuts make things so confusing)
I thought she was going to make an a** out of me for calling, but instead she thanked me and asked me to call again if it happened again. She asked if I caught the bus number. I said no. I was walking back to my house by then and didn't think to catch that.
Dang it, I would so fail if I had to describe a real crime. xp

bohemian babie I think what you did was really good cool . There should be more people like you in this world 3nodding . Would have to agree there. Don't feel too bad that you didn't take in much detail, sounds like you were under a fair bit of stress. As if having a sick kid isn't enough to deal with. Most of the schools in our area have a zero tolerance to bullying and fighting here, too.

I am completely shocked an adult was right there and didn't move a muscle. that makes me sick frankly. if my children were to ever end up in that situation i certainly hope there's a more proactive person like YOU there *hug* and i hope your kiddo is feeling better too.

I do, however, agree that more and more people are turning a blind eye to circumstances involving violence. Either they're too frightened of getting hurt or don't want to be involved for other reasons. Me, I'd help out in what ever way I could, cos I'd like to think that some one would do the same for me.
