Because it gives out only the same, crappy items, it probably does nothing for or against the economy. 5 gold? Block thingy? Yeah.

I don't really like it [unless it gives me a Halo like it did to everyone when it first came out and I totally missed it, but that'll never happen again >_>].
I don't really see a point to give out bugs and trash and blocks over and over, it's just clogging up the MP.
It is however making those things cheaper, but that doesn't help when you're questing for like 04 items since the price drop doesn't seem to apply to donation items [or monthly collectables or whatever pretty name you wanna call them].
I could be a little more happier if it wasn't mostly junk they're giving out, I haven't gotten a single item above maybe 300g that I can recall. D:
I can see when it's throwing 50g+ at you but when you click that button and get yet another piece of crap to add to the pile of crap you already have, what's the point?
Unless I'm the only one who has worse luck with DC... >_<;
I agree with DW though, it probably does nothing but clog up inventories and the MP. x_X

But all that stuff piles up like a snowball, it doesn't seem like much at first, but over a period of time with the free 50 pure about every other user, it's going to add up.

The whole "It's going to add up" argument has some credence. The problem is that, while it will add up, you're never going to make more than a few thousand gold every few days, assuming you fanatically get on and get your Daily Chance each day. And for the amount of time it would take to click all the Daily Chance links each week, sell the stuff at a decent value, and count up your gold, I can make a good 20k off the Exchange/Vend.

I really don't mind it. I collect things though, so having a collection of "worthless" trash doesn't bother me. Selling trash is actually how I make a fair amount of gold. It may not seem like a lot, just selling 100g worth of trash, but it does add up over time. My goal is to accumulate a huge pile of trash (like a million pieces) and then sell it all off, making me wealthy, so I can start up a charity based on exchanging trash and such for other users. Meh, I'm probably crazy, but I like to dream big, and I don't really care if takes me a really long time.

I think it is good for the newbies to have as a way to start increasing their inventories and playing around with their account settings and get into the games. However for older gaians, I think it is just a very slow process to make money but many people still do it in hopes to get something actually worth it (like when I was collecting paintings and I got one I had not gotten through it).
