a captain was sailing his ship when the look out cired "captain! enemy ship on the horizon!"
hearing this, the captain called out to his first mate "quick! bring me my red coat!"
the first mate did as orderd, the captain put on his coat, and they did battle with the other ship.
by the end of the day, they had won.
while celebrating at dinner, the first mate went up to the captian and asked him "captain! just before the battle, you asked for yor red coat and then we ended up winning. how.. how, how?" <--at a loss for words
the captain upon hearing this, replied soundly,
"well first mate, if i had bin injured while wearing my red coat, no blood wouldve shown and the crew wouldve gone on fighting hard instead of worrying about the well-being of their captain."
the first mate thought that was pretty cool, and went back to celebrating.
the next day, the captain was back at the helm when the look out cried "captain! 40 enemy ships on the horizon!"
upon hearing this, the captin cried to his first mate
"quick! get me my brown pants"
