Introduction:
*sighs* yet another series i'm working on (the writing chaos never ends)
I'll be adding snippets here and there of the stories...I think there are five in all(haven't finished organizing which book ends where yet) but they'll probably end up being relatively short paperback sized books.

Summary:
The Shadow series revolves around a single girl named Jennifer who at the age of 15 is forced to face an entity known as Shadow to save the young man she was in love with named Joshua. You learn about her past and abilities as the Historian of another world which she had always believed existed only in her imagination. She changes and grows through the series as love and loss become a major staple in her life and how Shadow affects it as she grows older. There are transformations and secrets along the way that change the world around her until everything she thought she knew became nothing but a flickering shadow ever changing with its source of light. This is a story of good and evil and how perceptions change with time.

Characters:
Jennifer: The main protagonist through out the stories, they begin when she is 15 and end when she is mid 30's. As the story progresses she learns the truth of good and evil and what love really means.
Shadow: An entity of cloaked darkness who seems intent on having something that Jennifer has. Misunderstood for the most part he runs through the stories in several forms.
Joshua: In the first story he is the one Jennifer loves, a 15 year old boy in her school who is forced to face the reality beyond his own meager perceptions.
Jeremy: In the second story when Jennifer is 21 years of age, he is her best friend and becomes a Target for Shadow when he returns for a more powerful Jennifer. Together they must fight and win to find their freedom.
Jacob: In the third book on, a homeless man who has no memory of his past with strange nightmares. He discovers a great secret about himself that will change his relationship with Jennifer forever.
Jasper: In the fourth book on, the son of Jennifer and Jacob, he has powers from both of his parents and must face the reality that a darkness is coming that he must help defeat.
Miranda: In the fourth book on, A friend of Jasper's who has a deep dark secret that may be the key to destroying the true darkness.

Snippets:
...She stood from bed and approached him, Jeremy held her in his arms and they stood there for several moments before he pushed her back to arm length and leaned down to kiss her. Surprised she kissed him in return, but feeling as if something was wrong she pulled away; Jeremy would never have done that. He never said he was attracted to her that way and he would have…looking into his eyes she saw a darkness there and stepped back with a growl.
She accused him of being Shadow and Jeremy’s features changed from his normal placid smile to a dark smirk as he stepped forward stroking her cheek.
“I could be him Jennifer, you could be with your love, he is so more potent than the last one, you would die for this one, it explains why the key would not have worked…I could be everything you want, your dream man, wouldn’t you like that?” He tried to kiss her again and she growled keeping him away from her.
“You’re not Jeremy, no matter how much you look like him, now leave his body, I would die for him and I don’t want his life to be taken from him, if he doesn’t love me then so be it. I just want him to be happy.”
Shadow laughed and explained that Jeremy wouldn’t come back, he was trapped and couldn’t return, if shadow left the body it would simply die, he could be everything she wanted if she simply accept him, he could even have Jeremy’s mind, his thoughts and memories. Then he emulated Jeremy perfectly which wrenched Jennifer’s heart and she shook her head tears running down her cheeks. Telling him to free Jeremy, Shadow simply responded that if she wanted Jeremy back, the Jeremy who would never be in love with her she would have to go after him and that she knew the way to do it, refusing to help her...

‘The dream world was all mist as it always was when they met, a glade with just a hint of sunlight glinting from white clouds. Jasper looked disconcerted as he saw the Miranda he had always seen, now knowing the truth of her identity.
“Why didn’t you tell me…that you were suffering?” His eyes, dark like his fathers watched her, faintest of frowns on his young handsome face.
She looked away from him wearing the red summer dress she always wore, even as a child though now it came to just above her knee and showed a trim womanly figure, her mental self had long straight brown hair and hazel blue eyes. The difference between her dreams self and her true self were rather remarkable.
He could almost see the bed in which she spent most of her time, hair cut short and tubes carefully placed around her body to keep her living. He hadn’t seen her real eye color because those eyes had been rolled back into her head lids closed. Her real self had been expressionless, catatonic as she had been most of her life. Nurses cared for her day and night and carefully shifted her to prevent bedsores, no this dream self was completely different than her true self. He was disappointed that she never told him the truth.
As if sensing what he was thinking she looked up at him and glared those hazel orbs, so much like his mothers studying him before she turned away from him.
“I didn’t want you to get involved in this Jasper; you walk on very dangerous ground…” Her back stiff as if with pride before slumping head hanging, he could almost see the hair that hid her face. It was when he heard sniffles that he gave her a second look and realized that Miranda was crying.
Jasper went to his friend’s side and wrapped his arms around her slim frame, though he knew this was a world of dreams they both seemed so solid within it. She clung to him for several moments before carefully pushing him away looking off into the distance.
“You have to leave me Jasper, its too dangerous for you here…the darkness…it comes for me when I’m alone. It wants something that I cannot give it, it wants me to do something Jasper and that something has to do with you. I won’t let it hurt you, I swear I won’t…” She looked up at him the remnant of the tears being blinked away as she touched his face something yearning there.
Jasper’s back stiffened at the mention of the darkness, the same he had been prepared his whole life to defend against, darkness with no name but still he understood it to be the same that hunted his parent’s years before. Instead of walking away he stepped closer, into her hand, arms wrapping around her, he kisses her, and no he couldn’t leave, no matter that she had never told him the truth of her body. He loved her and wouldn’t let the darkness win. Despite her protests of him leaving Jasper would stay, and save his best friend, the woman who owned his heart.’
