Even more you can do!
There's even more you can do to increase your chances of success on any test. Try these strategies to be a super test taker:
1. Prepare the night before Lay out your clothing, pens, pencils, notes, lunch, and other school supplies. You don't want to be rushing around in the morning.
2. Choose comfortable clothingAvoid itchy sweaters or starchy pants. Your cloths should be loose enough so that you feel comfortable
3. Get a good night's sleepYes, I know you've heard it before, but it really works. A solid eight hours of
zzzzz's can recharge your batteries and give you the winning edge you need.
4. Be sure to eat breakfastEat a nourishing breakfast of cereal, fruit, and toast. You might want to have eggs, french toast, or pancakes. Don't make do with a Pop Tart or donut.
5. Avoid sodaI know what your thinking- NEVER! But too much caffeine can give you the jitters, so avoid caffeinated colas (besides, you shouldn't be drinking soda for breakfast!)
6. Wake up!If you're a morning sleepyhead, wake yourself up with a hot shower or brief exercise. A short jog works well (and you can walk the dog at the same time!)
7. Leave yourself time in the morningFigure out how much time you need in the morning to get ready- and then add an extra 15 minutes. If an emergency arises, you'll have time to deal with it. If everything goes smoothly, you can review your notes for a few minutes.
8. Build your self confidenceGetting yourself all upset before a big test will make you feel more nervous. It can also rob you of the confidence you need to succeed. Remind yourself that you have prepared well so you will do well. A positive attitude brings great results.
