Everything in these damn guilds are always "favorite this" or "favrite that"... Well, we know you like Dethklok, otherwise, why would you be here. In this thread, we'll compare the band members to other musicians, who you think are better.

Example:

Paul Gilbert is better than Skwisgaar by far, and a half.


So, let's see what band members hold up against other musicians.

Auto-Fail music nooblet... Lot's of guitarists own Skwisgaar... Even Dimebag, and that's not saying much... because Dimebag is mediocre at best...

I don't think this question is fair...

There are many musicians better than the members of Dethklok. You're comparing members of a make-believe band to professional musicians... It doesn't quite work.

In the cartoony metal world of Metalocalypse, Dethklok is the most metal band of them all.

In the real world... Well, maybe not so much.

For a low-budget Adult Swim cartoon, I think the music is very impressive.

Music is music, and musicians are musicians. Weather or not they play in a real band or not. Look at Spinal Tap. They are a joke band, but they are still good musicians. Same goes for Brendon Small, he's a good guitarists... so comparing his musicianship to others is quite fair. And just because a professional musician is, well, pro, doesn't mean that they are good... A prime example of this would be 90% of the scene music these days. In all fairness, Brendon Small > Avenged Sevenfold... Without a doubt. HAHA

@ valentine-massacre: Dimebag was a mediocre guitarist. That doesn't mean that he wasn't good at what he did, but it just means that he wasn't as good as people made him out to be. He has been rediculously over-rated, since his death, and has gained a huge following that he wouldn't have had otherwise.

@ Xx_Nickle-Plated_Idiot_xX: Very nice, Angus Young is a great guitarist in my opinion. Quite a different style, but nonthelss, great musician. biggrin

I think Toki and Skwisgaar are quite fine guitarists. >.> XD Especially for cartoons, since anytime a cartoon is about a band, it's either some crappy, cheesy-a** pop punk wannabe band on Nick. Thank God Metalocalypse isn't like that.

My favorite guitarists is John Frusciante, though. He got me to pick up my guitar again, and he's my hero. His music and RHCP's stuff gives me chills. And my fandom is the reason why I get so pissed when people say "OMGZ RHCP R MAI FAV BAND I LYK SNOW AND DANI KALIFORNIA LOLOL!11!". D: I'm sure many people can agree with me.
