Commence Operation Haliaeetus Leucocephalus.

Note: Sabeth will be taking Eriku and McClane to the drop zone. They will parachute half a mile away from the base and infiltrate from that point, retrieving the F-15 to seal their escape route. McClane has been given a portable communicator in case Eriku and himself need emergency extraction due to mission failure.

Once the two have jumped from the Osprey, Sabeth and Jet will proceed to Operation 5-41.

All four guild members will start out inside of the newly built hanger.

McClane can use his L-85 A1 and a sidearm, if he chooses. Eriku and the pair on 5-41 may select weapons from the armory, but you all must make sure that no one else is using the weapon in another operation. That is all.... Good luck.

McClane entered the hanger with his L-85 A1 strapped around his back and an M-9 pistol in his side holster. After reaching the Osprey, he leaned against it and pulled out a folded piece of paper.

Examining the sheet, McClane let out a longing sigh. Very soon he would finally be back up in the air, not from a helicopter, or a cheap imitation plane such as the Osprey, but in an F-15; his heart nearly skipped with excitement. The commander impatiently waited for Eriku and the team involved with 5-41 to show up.

Eriku walked into the room, an AK-47 slung over her shoulder and an M1911 holstered on her hip. "McClane." She said in greeting, crossing the room to join him. She scanned the area and saw that they were alone. "They not here yet?" She asked, intending it to be ritorical. She leaned against the wall and closed her eyes while she waited for the others to join them.

Looking up from what was obviously the same paper he had been examining in the tavern, McClane spoke. "Nah, not yet. Hopefully they know where this place is." He looked around the immense hanger. It had plenty of room for planes, helicopters, and the like. The Conflict hanger came standard with a built in hatch in the roof, allowing for vertical take off once the hatch was opened.

Before he returned to his blueprint, McClane looked towards Eriku, speaking quietly, almost as if he was shy.
"Hey, Eriku? How are you feeling?"

Eriku rubbed her leg where she had been shot, it was healing nicely. "Fine, thanks. And youself?" She asked diplomatically.

Scratching his head, McClane cracked half a smile. "I'm pretty good. I wish I had been the one to take the hits in the previous mission, but that's something not even the co-leader of a mercenary organization can control."

Eriku's eyes immediately flashed open. For a long moment she just stared at McClane, then she walked over to where he was standing. "Speaking of which. . ." It showed on Eriku's face just how far out of her comfort zone she was, but she knew she had to do this. After months of suppressing her martial arts habits Eriku finally broke; she bowed to McClane. "Thank you for saving my life!" She said louder than she needed too. "And. . . I'm sorry about what I said to you. . . back in the tavern."

*Flashback*

McClane
After spinning his glass in place on the table, McClane looked back up to Eriku. "Enough about the guild for now, tell me a little about yourself."

BunnyLover4Ever
Eriku faultered. "My life's not all that interesting actually. What about you? Have you been in the army all your life, or is this you first time like me?"

McClane
Rubbing his chin a little, he complied. "Well before this, I was part of an organization that experimented on its soldiers. Don't worry though," He assured her. "I've only had nano machines implanted into me, I have control over it."

Scratching the back of his neck, he continued. "Before that, I was part of a four man squad known as the Hawks. V.C. Hicks was also part of this group. Unfortunately, we separated after one of our own went M.I.A." Looking down, he sighed a little.

((Next Morning))

McClane
Looking up to Eriku, a subtle smile crossed McClane's face. He spoke to her softly. "It's good to see a friendly face. How are you tonight, Eriku?"

BunnyLover4Ever
She ignored his question, and for a long moment she just stared at him. After a minute or so she finally spoke.
"I was a ninjitsu teacher, and an assassin before that." She paused a moment, holding her gaze steady. "Needless to say, something happened and I had to. . . . leave. That's why I came here. After what happened I don't expect many fighting schools to hire me. . ." She heaved a sigh, having answered his question from the night before. "I didn't come here to find friends, or anything like that, the only thing I expect to find here is death. Do you understand?" She was not yelling at him nor speaking disrespectfully, she was literally asking him a question.

McClane
Looking into her eyes, he refused to let himself look away like he would normally do. McClane had been down that road before and knew exactly how she felt. "Hopefully....." He spoke with the soft tone he had addressed her with before. "Hopefully you'll find something to convince you otherwise."

BunnyLover4Ever
Eriku stared at him and shook her head. "Somehow, I doubt that." Her words were cold. She turned and headed for the door, a moment later she was gone.

*End Flashback*

"It was wrong, rude, disrespectful, and down right selfish of me to say something like that! And I want to say that I am truly, deeply sorry!" Eriku knew that right now was probably not the time to be confessing her guilt, but if she didn't do it now she knew she would never find the courage to do it again. "Now I've realized I was wrong."

Slightly taken off guard by Eriku's apology, McClane folded his blueprint and returned it to his pocket. He stepped towards her, placing a hand on her shoulder and allowing a half smile to creep across his face. "You don't need to apologize to me for what was said. You spoke your mind and that's exactly what I wanted of you." McClane's eyes wandered to the Osprey for a moment before returning to look into Eriku's, something he often refused to do. "Also," his smile grew, "I like to be proven right." McClane playfully winked at her.

It had always seemed to him that Eriku had a lot of personality within her. Unfortunately, whatever happened in her past confined who she really was. McClane was in this business to make money and get back at the organization that had violated his comrades, but he always had a soft spot for seeing people happy. It seemed that Eriku's time in the guild had contributed to bringing back the "good" side of her and to be part of a solution that involved someone's happiness was better than any amount of money or vengeance that McClane could get out of this guild.

Eriku's shoulders slumped at the realization that McClane had indeed been right. However, despite her shock, she wasn't bothered by the fact that he had read her like a book. For once in her life she was glad to be wrong.
Eriku's heart ached. 'He's almost exactly like. . .' She shook her head, not wanting painful memories to resurface.

Removing his hand from Eriku's shoulder, McClane returned to his resting place against the Osprey. "I wonder where those two are...." Though he didn't show it, he continued to think about what Eriku and him had just spoken of. McClane had a habit of keeping moments such as these in his mind, even long after they have taken place. He almost felt like there was more to speak about, but at this point, he was unsure of exactly what that was.

"Sorry, Sir. Some new kid stole my flight manual. Wanted to make sure I had controls down so I didn't get anyone killed. Ready to go?" she asked. She walked up to the craft they were to be taking. She climbed into the Ospray and started it warming up the propellers and engine. She checked everything before putting on her headset.

McClane hopped into the transport, turning to help Eriku in and speaking to Sabeth at the same time. "Any idea where your partner is?" Though quite eager to go, McClane knew that they had to wait for Jet. Sabeth wouldn't be able to hover the Osprey above the Apache and hook it up at the same time.

"Hes supposed to be here already." she said checking fuel levels.

Eriku gratefully accepted McClane's help and took a seat in the back. "I'm sure he has a good reason for his tardyness." She said, though deep down she hoped nothing was wrong. She examined the aircraft, it was hard to believe that a few days ago they had stolen it. She grinned, it was good to be going on missions again, like she had back at the ninja academy.
