Who doesn't like a good meal? Be it an old family recipe or something you've made by mistake in the kitchen, food is food. So why not share your recipes with the rest of the world (well, this guild xd ) for everyone to enjoy? I'm sure that there's a mystery dish out there you're just dying to eat. smile

Here's a little something I make in the kitchen when I'm craving for some pasta.

Spaghetti with Mushrooms in Tomato Sauce

2 packs 370 mL tomato sauce
3 tomatoes, quartered
1 can mushrooms, drained
2 medium sized onions, chopped
4 - 6 cloves of garlic, crushed
2 small cans of anchovies
10-12 olives, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

1 pack spaghetti noodles, cooked

Assuming that the noodles are cooked...

Saute the anchovies in a medium saucepan over medium heat until soft.
Add the garlic and onions and saute until onions become transparent.
Pour in the tomato sauce, stirring to mix for 6-8 mins.
Add the rest of the ingredients, stirring the sauce over medium to high heat for 7 more minutes.
Season to taste then serve

Oh. My. God. I love you. My sweet haven.

I am having a cookbook being published as soon as I get it all together. I think I might share them.

Hmmm.... let's go with some of my simple recipes.

Italian Noodle Salad

1 bag/box of noodles of choice. I use Egg noodles for this recipe
1 lb bacon
1 cucumber
Handful of olives
1/2 cup cherry tomato
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped pepper blend. (banana, red, green)
2 cups of Italian blend cheese
Your choice of Italian dressing

Cook noodles as directed, set aside and cook bacon in a large skillet, once cooked crispy remove bacon and add onions and peppers to sautee. Once they are limp set aside.

Place noodles in a large servign bowl. Chop bacon into small pieces and add to noodles. Add Onions and peppers, cheese and mix well. Add disired amount of dressing to taste. Top with sliced cucmbers and tomatos.
Serve warm or cold, and enjoy.

Looks like I'm not the only one here with a taste for good food. I think I'll try this out when our kitchen is done with the refurbishing job.

What a sweet idea!
I love good food, unfortunatly I don't like to cook.

And when I do cook, I'm afraid I'm not very good.

I have bought a few cookbooks and some food magazine's, but I have yet to make anything from them.

If I come accross anything good, I'll be sure to share it.

Yay, more people! smile It's not all that, really, but it's pretty nice. I love editing existing recipes to add unique flavor to them, and tomorrow, I'll try out Pudge's Noodle Salad in our newly refurbished kitchen razz I'll also post a few of the other stuff I love making.

@llama - no problem! biggrin

@Ceres - On baking, cakes are my favorite dessert! Next to ice cream and chocolates. I just tasted a wonderful cake a few weeks back and I'm dying to know the recipe. I think it was a strawberry cheesecake, or was it a cherry cheesecake? I forget xd Either way, once I figure out what it is, I'll post it smile

I love food, and I love to cook. Everyone tells me I am pretty good, but *shrugs* Who knows.

Homemade noodles

Small volcano of flowers, and then some
Dash of salt
1-2 eggs
1 roast
water
2 boxes of beef broth
salt
pepper
Kitchen Bouquet
garlic powder
onion powder

Place roast in crock pot/slow cooker. pour water around it so that is comes half way up on the roast. Pour KB on the roast and using a pastry brush, brush it so that the KB covers the top of the roast, sinking into the marbling/grains of the meat. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, onion and garlic ontop. Cover and cook 8-10 hours. If you don't have a slowcooker, place roast in a roasting pan, follow the prep directions and place in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Results should be the same.

Noodles:
In a large mixing bowl pile flower into a volcano. Crack an egg into the crater and add a dash of water. Mix well. If too sticky, add flower until dry, yet pliable. If you add too much flower, and you will know you did because the dough will be dry and crumble, add some water to correct it.

section off dough into handfulls of rolled dough, place on flat, flowered surface. Using a rolling pin, flaten dough, adding flower to the top/bottom if sticking to the pin/surface. After the dough is paper thin (or however thick/thin youlike) cut into stripes however thick/thin you please. Place cut dough, which is now your uncooked noodles into another large mixing bowl. Sprinkle a touch of flower onto each set of noodles to avoid sticking and clumping.

After your meat is done cooking, remove the meat and shred about half of it, if not all. Save the juices and pour into large pot. Add the boxes of broth and bring to a boil. Once it has reached a full rolling boil, add meat and stir. Gradually, while stirring, add the noodles to avoid clumping. Once all noodles are in, cook approx. 5 mins or until the noodles are done. With all the flower you added to the noodles, the broth should be a runny gravy.

Remove from heat and enjoy. For a real, amish-stlye treat, serve ontop of mashed potatoes with some buttered potato bread.

Enjoy!

Anyone else have something to share? Here's my grandma's recipe for sinigang na baboy which is Pork in sour broth. Modified by me, of course smile

Around 4-5 cups water
2-3 radishes, chopped
1 eggplant, chopped
1 onion, peeled
3 pcs. small chili peppers (try to get small ones that fit in your fist, these are just for flavor, not really intended to be eaten unless you want to ^ ^)
1 bunch of swamp cabbage (known in the Philippines as kangkong, for reference run off to wikipedia XD)
1/4 - 1/2 lb. pork, chopped into bite sized pieces
2 cups tamarind, boiled and mashed
Salt and Pepper to taste

Procedure ~

Tamarind -
Boil the tamarind until soft, then mash to squeeze out the juices. Strain the peelings off and dispose. Set the juice aside

Pork -
Boil pork in 3 cups water with 1 tbsp. salt for 5 minutes to remove dirt. Strain the water and dispose. Set the pork aside.

Kangkong -
Fully submerge kangkong in a bowl of salt water for 5 minutes to clean. Rinse then set aside.

In a large casserole, bring water to a boil.
Add the radishes until soft.
Add the swamp cabbage and simmer for 10 minutes or until tender.
Add the pork and tamarind juice and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for another 8-10 minutes.
Season to taste and serve. smile

The result should be quite sour, if it isn't you can always add more tamarind juice. Enjoy! heart
