Ceri's eyes were bright, as she glanced about. The days were beginning to get a lot clearer lately it seemed, as Spring fast approached. Delighted by the nice day, the elf twirled happily, stopping only when her twirling had brought her towards a large tree. Really, the last thing she needed was her good mood to be ruined by smacking headfirst into a tree.

Instead, she seated herself down at the base of the tree, shielded from the sun by the large, looming branches. Tucking her legs in, she fingered a tiny flower that was beside her, before snapping the stem, and holding it up. She twirled the small flower between her fingers, watching the whirl and blur of the petals with a small smile.

Really, Ceri did love spring.

Vash hummed to himself as he walked along, eyes closed and fingers snapping to a beat only he could hear. It was a beautiful sunny day and the breeze was a gentle carress that made him sleepy. The only thing that was missing was a big box of donuts and maybe a jug or two cider.

His footsteps kicked up dust, leaving a small plume behind him. So far, trouble had avoided him and that combined with the pleasant day put him in the mood for some fun.

Now all he had to do was look for it. Adjusting the orangey-red glasses, he peered over the rims and spotted a fellow seated at the base of the tree. Perhaps he could sneak up on her.... Nodding, and with a goofy grin on his face, his left the path and made with his way through the undergrowth, hoping the crunch of his footsteps wasn't loud enough to attract attention.

By this point, Ceri was basically dazed. The calmness of the day brought drowsyness to her, and she could feel her eyelids droop as another pleasant little breeze passed by. Half of herself was telling her that right now wasn't really a good time to sleep, nor a good place. The other half was arguing, saying that despite the fact other elves would probably pass by here, they wouldn't do anything to her.

She was, however, suddenly aware of the feeling that she was being watched. Was it just her imagination, perhaps? Sitting up a little straighter, she rubbed at an eye, using the other to glance about, still sleepy.

"Hhm? Is somewhere there?" The elf stood up with a small frown, her gaze drifting about. Though she really wanted just to sit back down and enjoy the coming of spring, and the nature, she always had to be alert, just in case.

He pouted, realizing he'd been sensed... but not spotted! The frown disappeared immediately as he crept around the other side of the tree, out the other's range of vision.

His red coat stood out in stark contrast to the green of the grass as he leapt at Ceri, calling out as he moved. It wasn't an aggressive call but someone faced with a ball of red coming at them may not see it as a friendly greeting. Unfortunately, Vash hadn't tought of that.

The elf's body tensed, and it was visible that she was nervous as she wrung her hands together, her gaze darting to and fro.

When a blur of red came towards her, Ceri let out an alarmed, yet very quiet, shriek, ducking out of the way just in time. For a moment, she was completely dazed and confused as to what happened, before glancing at Vash.

It was another elf? Really, she thought she just had a heartattack! Pressing her hand to her chest, she felt her heart restart itself from the fright, before glancing at Vash again, a half smile, half frown on her face.

"Are you alright? And what in the world were you trying to do, sir?"

Vash hand landed solidly on his stomach and mumbled something along the lines of "Fine. Totally fine" as he rose and dusted himself off. A quick glance revealed that this elf was older then he was and he frowned. He was hoping for someone more along the lines of his age.

Ah well. Maybe she had something of interest?

"Me? Nothing. Just passing through." He nodded, pleased with his answer. "What are you doing out here?" He tilted his head to the side and smiled. What indeed.

The female hesitated, before reaching out and patting off a little dust on the younger elf's shoulder. "Are you sure you're alright?" Shr asked, with a frown, which then turned into a grimace. "You certainly gave me quite the heartattack when you leap out like that." Ceri was, at least, relieved to see it was merely a younger elf.

She blinked at his answer, before emitted a small laugh. "'Passing through'?" She repeated, raising brows. Though she didn't say it outloud, it was obvious she was silently asking where the cry and tackle had come from, if he was just 'passing through'.

Then, with a smile, she gave a small motion of her hand, towards the scenery around them. "Merely enjoying nature, and the coming of spring." She replied, before wrinkling her nose a bit. "As...corny as that may sound?"

"Maybe I meant to do that!" He laughed as he watched her, wondering what was so special about the spring. It just meant everything was getting warmer and the grass greener right?

He wondered if his guardian was also 'enjoy nature' as she had let him go roaming about. The others had struck up a game of hide and go seek which he had quickly gotten bored of. They always complained when they couldn't find him. Cops and robbers was what he preferred. A game of strategy that didn't rely so heavily on hiding.

And so, bored, he'd wandered off. His little legs carrying him here. A question then struck him as he watched the other elf, "Where's your guardian?" He blinked as he realized he didn't know her name yet, "Oh, and pardon me but what's your name, miss?"

With a blink, Ceri laughed. "You meant to do it, did you now?" She teased, seeming amused. "Well, as long as you're alright, and my heart is still beating, there was no harm done."

Stretching, she offered Vash a grin. "My guardian?" The female repeated. "I think she's at home cooking, or something of the sort. I'm allowed to come and go as I please." Again, she gazed up absentmindedly at the sky. "I usually stay at home too, to do some reading, but it's so nice today, so I decided to take a walk."

Realizing she was just blabbering now, she smiled sheepishly, apologizing to the younger elf, before a look of surprise crossed her face. Right! She hadn't even introduced herself yet!

Hastily, the girl took a small, polite bow. "How rude of me. My name is Ceri." She said, brightly. "And whom might you be?"

"Oh? You're free to roam?" He blinked, realizing that must be a wonderful way of living, "My Guardian likes to know where we are." He bowed in response to her quick dip, "I'm Vash! A pleasure to meet you!"

Then he paused, wondering what else to say, "I'm alright, really!" He smiled and tapped his chest, the metal rings around his fingers clinking against the buttons of his coat.

When he realized she'd spoke about food, his stomach rumbled loudly and his mouth quirked into a goofy grin, "Do you have anything to eat? I'm hungry!" He turned to stare back the way he'd come and shook his head, "And I don't feel like going back. You're good company Ceri!"

"Well," Ceri corrected herself with a grin, "My guardian usually only lets those who she thinks won't get into huge trouble free to roam. Most of the others have to have her permission." She admitted.

The female blinked when Vash's stomach growled, before breaking into a grin, and stifling a giggle. "Of course. Kaiyumi - my guardian, that is - often packs some food items for me when I decide to go out." Moving back to the tree, she reached towards one of the lower branches, standing on her tiptoes. After a moment, she pulled down her medical case from the said branch, with a sheepish grin. "Kai likes using my medical kit to put the snacks in, even though I tell her that's not what it's for." To be specific, Ceri had told Kaiyumi COUNTLESS times that food didn't go in her medical kit, and every time, Kaiyumi would promise not to put it in her case.

And the next time Ceri goes out, what does Kai do? Put the food in the case. By this point however, Ceri was already used to it, and gave up trying to convince Kaiyumi otherwise.

Walking back towards Vash, she knelt down on the grass, fumbling with the case until she got it open. To be honest, she never knew what kind of food Kai would supply her with. This time, placed in a small container, were a variety of mini donuts. With a grimace, the female sighed. She liked sweet things, but to be honest, these donuts looked like they were nothing but sugar.

Taking the container from her medical case, Ceri held it out to Vash. "Donuts? Help yourself, if you'd like them."

Vash grinned when he saw Ceri take out a box of lunch items and there were donuts to boot! His smile grew as he quickly took some and munched happily, thanking her even though his mouh was full. He absolutely loved donuts!

"Aye laek zem Curreh!" He nodded, stuffing another in his mouth and licking his fingers, "Tank yew!"

Before he forgot, he removed his glasses and tucked them daintily into his coat pocket where they wouldn't get donut powder or smudges on them. When he finished the few he'd taken, he smiled once more and spoke more clearly, "Thank-you! Why do you have a medical box? Do you heal?" He spoke conversationally as he continued to munch on the donuts as if they were his and his alone. If this elf was willing to let him indulge then indulge he will.
