Northeast's largest anime convention announces latest additions to all-star lineup.

BOSTON, April 1, 2007 – Anime Boston is pleased to announce its final round of guests. From Japan, the convention welcomes Hiroshi Iwata, producer of Macross, and Kenji Terada, writer for Kimagure Orange Road and the first three Final Fantasy titles. The convention also warmly greets voice actress Brina Palencia.

Brina Palencia is relatively new to the voice acting scene. Noted as the voice of Eve from Black Cat, Palencia has also starred in Full Metal Alchemist, Speed Grapher, Gunslinger Girl and Negima!. Most recently, Palencia has been cast as Maho Minami in BECK: Mongloian Chop Squad and Elisa Wasmeyer in Trinity Blood. Palencia has also voiced characters in Solty Rei, Spiral, The Galaxy Railways and Samurai 7.

Hiroshi Iwata is perhaps best known as a producer for Macross: Do You Remember Love? and the Macross TV series. He has also been a producer for the Time Patrol-Tai Otasukeman television series and the Outlanders OAV. He served as a director on Mori no Youki na Kobito-tachi: Berufi to Rirubitto (The Littl' Bits), which has aired in the United States on Nickelodeon. Iwata is well known to the U.S. market, working on various shows for ABC in the early 1970s. Most recently, Iwata has become a freelance producer, working on Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and Batsumaru for Sanrio.

Kenji Terada is a prolific screenwriter who has an impressive list of credits to his name. He is likely best known as the writer for the first three games in the Final Fantasy series and as the series organizer and main scriptwriter for Kimagure Orange Road. His writing credits also include Space Adventure Cobra, Genesis Climber Mospeada, Kinnikuman, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, Dirty Pair, Dancougar - Super Beast Machine God, BAOH, Ushio and Tora, Wedding Peach, and the Batman: Dark Tomorrow video game. He served as a director for the Outlanders OAV. Recently, Mr. Terada was tapped as a story consultant for the film Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.
Other previously announced guests are Greg Ayres, Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, Chris Bevins, Luci Christian, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Robert and Emily DeJesus, Yasuhiro Imagawa, Mike McFarland, Junji Nishimura, Mike Sinterniklaas , David Williams and Travis Willingham.

I don't want to slip this topic into OT so I'll just say that this is normal, I'm in Pre-Convention mode, going wherever there is Anime Boston discussion to be had. Cons are great. : )

I realize there are two different threads on guests so I guess I said all I needed to in the other. ^^:;;;;;

confused You wouldn't happen to be the TMChina on c.com, AND the AB forums, the fellow in charge of the AB court case, would you? Cause if you are, one of us needs to stop stalking the other. Hehe, just kidding. Small internet.

Again, no Japanese guests that have me going gaa-gaa over. *pouts* The closest I've got in common with any of em is my Outlanders manga, that's sad.

rofl I'm a lot of places. C.Com, AB Forums, here there...Court Case....Sailor Moon Panel....et cetera et cetera....the internet's got to many places to be hehe.

I'm pleased with the Japanese guests because while there are a lot of guests I'd still like to see, this is the first year I've gone to a con and the Japanese guests have worked on any project I've heard of, and in this case its multiple projects, so it's cool. But yeah I understand, there's so much anime out there it can be hard for cons to bring in guests covering all the ground. : )
