Okay okay, for my class we are supposed to make a boutique sized bag covered with illustrations based on a children's story, poem or rhyme.
I've been playing around with my character designs and overall visual style.
Wanted something different than what I usually do.

Mine's The three Billy Goats Gruff...

Not the final product, just a mock-up. Opinions?
Just warning you in advance, I'm not too interested in changing either of the three goats very drastically.



I wanted to do something like cut-outs but with less mess, haha.

But, oh jeez, good call on the shorts. Something was bugging me about the littlest kid, but I couldn't place it. Thankfully you were able to stop me for making a terrible mistake. XD
Originally they were all going to have a pink accent on their clothes, but the biggest one just looked weird.

I toned it down and made it darker, as can be seen here. Looks better now, methinks. Nice save.


The textures I got from this DA artist that just posts texture packs. Really awesome texture packs. I think the user's name is dholms.

The white is actually from me being too lazy to clean up the edges since this is just a mock-up...
Should I include something like 'paper edges' like that in the final?

Man, I would shop at that store just to get the bag! Yeah, changing the colour of the shorts was definitely a good call.

However, I would personally get rid of the white bits. Then again that could be just personal preference talking. I like things tidy. I think they stand out against the background on their own without the white bits and if the assignment calls for this to be a design for a store bag, you would want it to look as professional as possible. If I were the owner of the store and I saw the little white chunks on the finished piece I would think that, like Our said - you used some cheap scissors or something.

...then again I'm probably being too harsh. But I think you should tidy those up personally.

OH. But I REALLY really do like it. Seriously. Like I said, even with the white bits, I would totally go to the store just to get the bag.
