Okay~
So I started writing this awhile ago, so it already has four chapters.
It has various pairings, and with newer chapters I'm going to try and work any possible pairing with the 'dex holders'.
Theres just one thing~
when I started this, the Diapearl manga wasn't out yet, so they aren't in it.
OKAY. SO HERE WE GO.
First time posting this publicly!

Prologue
Battling, Raising, Evolving, Healing, Hatching, Catching, Trading, Gym Battles, and Contests.
Those are the nine keys of Pokemon. Nine children were born with one of these abilities, that ability shining very brightly against all the others. The children were born times apart from each other, some being 16 while others were still 11.
Within the past few months, a team had popped up, hearing about these children.
The leader had found out that their power combined would quite possibly make the strongest force in history.
Those nine abilities being the 'keys of Pokemon', he dubbed the nine children 'The keys'.
He sent out his organization to watch them for awhile, get some more information on them and the like. It came as a pleasant surprise to him when he found out all of the children were friends. This would make collecting the power for himself much much easier.

The sun set out its warm glow over Johto as another day had finished its cycle. Gold was safely in his home in NewBark town, moving into his room after just finishing a warm supper his mother had made for the two of them. Just as unzipped his sweater, beginning to get ready for bed, a scream pierced through the air.
"..!! that-- that sounded like...!" He breathed, then bounded out of his room. He grabbed his skateboard, and without a word to his mom, quickly bolted to the scours of the scream.
"what.. what the hell.." the boy gasped in shock as he left the small town, noticing a very large tree. A tree that was not there before.
Picking up the pace, he noticed a large group of people at the base of the tree. From what he could see, the males wore deep green pants, a sleeveless brown top, green gloves and a brown bandanna.
There were only two females, but they wore skirts of the same green with very long brown socks, a sleeveless brown shirt and long green gloves that seemed to fade to brown.
"shut up! I think I hear someone.." One of them mumbled, looking in Golds general direction. He jumped off of his skateboard as a few of the people began to move towards him, hiding in a bush.
Peering through the leaves of the bush, Golds eyes widened as he saw the tree closer. It wasn't the fact that the tree seemed to be constantly growing, taking hold of the small cliffs and other trees, blocking off the path to cherrygrove city, no. It was the fact of what was IN the tree. Twisted into the branches in the middle of the tree was none other than Crystal.
Forgetting all about the fact he was hiding, he bursted from the bush, rushing towards the tree.
Just before he reached the tree, many of the 'team members', as he had labeled them, had grabbed Gold, restraining him.
Behind him, one had his arm twisted, pushing it up his back while another held his wrist with both of his hands while one more held near his shoulder.
Swearing heavily under his breath, the boy began to struggle in attempt to get the team members off of him.
"Well, Well. What do we have here?" A male voice called out, silencing the yells of the team members.
A tall man, maybe in his early 20s, slowly walked towards Gold, crossing his arms as he walked.
This man was dressed slightly differently then the others. His clothes had some white designs on it, and looked far more expensive. On his upper arm was a green band with brown lining. His red hair was quite long, and tied in a low ponytail which was wrapped by white cloth.
He was obviously one of the higher-ranked ones of this 'team'.
"Who are you?!" Gold managed to growl, then winced as everyone holding him at once tightened their grip on him.
The man closed his eyes, smiling. Letting out a small chuckle, he opened his eyes, then took a breath.
"Who are you to ask for MY name?"
He tried to lean forward towards the man, but before he could do anything, the man pulled out a dagger, placing it near Golds neck.
"Hmm. You're one of them, aren't you?" he smiled, looking into the golden eyes of the boy standing before him.
"Admin Guike!" one of the females called, running over to the scene "She got out! that catching girl managed to get out!"
Lowering the knife from Golds throat, Guike looked towards the tree and Crys. Crystal had managed to get herself unraveled from the branches, and was now climbing down the trunk of the tree slowly.
Taking the Admins distraction as an opportunity, Gold raised his leg, kicking one of his captors in the stomach. As he fell backwards, the others let go in shock, then tried to grab hold of him once more.
"Well. We'll just have to stop her, wont we?" Guike said calmly, reaching for a Pokeball on his belt despite the ruckus going on behind him.
Gold, reacting quickly, ran towards the tree and Crys. This time he had no problems getting there, for all of the members of the team had grouped over to him, before.
"Ampharos." Guike called, pressing his lips together in annoyance "Thunder."
As the bolt of lightning shot towards Crys at a very high speed, the girl threw her arms over her head and closed her eyes.
Opening her mouth to scream, someone beat her to it. She slowly opened her eyes, then gasped as she saw Gold, standing over her with his arms out in a protective fashion. He then clenched his teeth together as the, seemingly continuous, thunder attack hit his back. Finally, the lightning stopped as Golds limp body fell onto Crys. The girl gave out a slight cry of shock as she caught him, then looked over at Guike in a glare that was a mixture of anger and fright.
Frowning, Guike held out his arm, pointing towards the two. Opening his mouth to order another attack, there were two cracks, one slightly after the first.
After a slight flash of light, Crys stared in amazement as the 7 other 'heroes' stood before them.
"How did you..?" Crystal started before trailing off.
"We all felt that you and Gold were in danger." Replied Red, turning his head and smiling slightly at Crystal "We had Green bring us here with his Alakazam." The boy paused, looking over at Ruby and Sapphire "It looks like those two had the same idea"
The two Hoenn trainers nodded, looking over to the Kanto group.
Guike swore under his breath, taking a step back as he realized all nine keys were in the same area. This would be a prime time to capture them all, yet his current team was not strong enough.
"....I guess we shall retreat for now." Guike smiled, picking a small control panel out of his pocket. A few seconds after he pressed a red button on it, the tree behind the heroes began to rumble. The roots burst from the ground, tearing up the pathway. The branches went wild, demolishing many things around it.
"I can't see..!" Remarked Red, holding his arm up to his face in attempt to stop the dust. Yellow gasped as she saw a glint of light, then paused, wondering what it would be. Eyes widening, Green grabbed onto Yellow to tackle her out of the way, then winced as he felt something cut into his arm.
"Green..!" the small blond called out, reaching up to the wound. The gym leader gently pushed Yellows hand back down, as a sign of saying 'I'm fine', despite the fact there was a trickle of blood running down his arm.
A laugh broke through the Chaos and dust, the heroes turning their heads to see the Admin on one of the stable branches.
"It seems getting all of you will be a challenge, Keys." he hissed playfully.
Without warning, a branch swooped down to Ruby, entangling him and picking him up in the air.
Sapphire gasped in anger, tensing herself to run up the tree and save the boy, but the tree seemed to be... dissolving.
"Master Yurinr would be angry if I didn't bring back a souvenir" He chortled, then continued his farewell "Now, my children. I'll leave you this one thing:
You should never meddle in the affairs of Team Arbre."
-------2-------
For the time being, the Heroes had retreated back into the small town, taking lodging in Golds house. They had layed the unconcious boy on his bed, knowing that he for sure would be more comfortable in his warm house on a bed then on the cold ground outside. The seven of them were grouped around Golds bed, waiting for him to regain conciousness.
After what seemed to be hours, Gold finally grunted in discomfort, slowly opening his eyes. Everyone sitting around him gave a gasp of happyness, save for Sapphire who was off in a corner with her legs hugged to her cheast, lost in her trail of thaught.
"Sapphire~!" Crystal called happily, looking back at the saddened girl " Golds finally awake! Isn't that great?"
"..mmh? ah.. yeah, Crys." She said, looking up while forsing a smile.
"wh--what..?" Gold mumbled, sitting up "what am I.. why is everybody..." he questioned, blinking while looking around his trainer-filled room. "but.. wheres.. wheres Ruby?"
There was a silance for a moment, then finally Crystal spoke up. She told Gold of the events that had happened after he took the hit for her and passed out, up to when they brought him back home.
"so it's my fault." He commented after a long pause "It's my fault Ruby was captured."
Gold swung his feet off the side of his bed, slipping them into his shoes, he stood up and began walking twords the door.
"where are you going...?" Blue questioned, looking at Gold "You're still hurt."
Ignoring what the girl said, Gold opened the door to his room, and exited. Knowing leaving him alone wouldn't be the best thing to do, the group of trainers followed him.
Expecting to see him exiting yet another door, instead they found him paused infront of the T.V.
"All over Johto, large, living like trees seem to have materalized" Spoke a reporter "A few hours ago, they all seemed to dissapear save for one, outside of Mahogany town. No one has attempted to approach it in fear for their lives, due to the strange green aura radiating off of it."
"heh." Gold smirked, turning from the group that seemed to pour out of his room "Did 'ya hear that? I guess we're going to Mahogany."
Miles beneath the great tree lied the headquarters for Team Arbre. It was amazing how quickly the base seemed to form, almost as quickly as all of the trees had appeared and dissapeared.
"Let me get this straight, Guike." Called a strong, yet young female voice "You used your entire crystal to make a tree?"
"yes, My lady." he replyed
"Then you attacked the capturer, after losing her?"
"yes, My lady."
"then you attacked the hatcher, and brought back the wrong key?"
"yes.. my lady..."
With an annoyed look, the young girl lowerd an old wooden staff, the five green gems embedded in the top began to glow.
"You do know what this means?" she asked, then raised the staff again. One of the jems suddanly cracked, falling out of her staff.
Guike let out a yell of pain, fell to the floor, then was gone.
In the main room of the headquarters, roots from the great tree peirced down through the metal roof, hanging the unconcious contestor by his wrists.
A few of the lesser members of Team Arbre smirked acomplishedly, thinking they had done all the work, while they just beat him into submission when he struggled greatly.
The egoistical remarks seemed to quiet down some when a late-teens female walked into the room, her uniform much more revealing then the other girls. It seemed a dagger was a sign of an admin of Team Arbre, for she had one on her waist, aswell. Around her neck a thin bronze chain held a jagged, shard like green crystaline stone.
"hmm.." she smirked in intrest, looking up at Ruby. She touched her necklace, and another root shot up under her, lifting her up to where Ruby was.
"Who's he?" she questioned, leaning in a few centimeters away from his face "He's kinda cute." she half laughed, leaning back and crossing her arms. "The hats kinda stupid, though. Is he a new recruit?"
If one had been in the room with Yurinr at the time, they would have seen her thin lips curve into a malisious smile.
Having stolen some childs rollerblades (which miraculosly fit) after losing his skatebord, Gold quickly skated twards Mahogany town, Sapphire right on his trail with the others quite a ways back. Looking backwards slightly, Gold noticed Sapphire looking tierd and breathing quite heavily. Giving a slight sigh, he turned around, scooping Sapphire up and throwing her onto his back. Giving a slight scream of surprise, Sapphire blinked down, looking at the hatcher.
It felt they had been running for days when the heros reached the large tree, when in reality it had just been an hour and a half.
By one of the roots was a tunnel, an obvious entrance.
"Aha ha!" Laughed the female admin, Lurie, as the 'keys' all entered the room at once. " We knew you'd come. oh! and just in time to see our new admin~"
Through the crowed of green and brown stepped a boy, smaller then the rest of the group.
He wore the typical admin uniform, save for the green bandana over his short black hair. A smooth green stone seemed to be embedded into his cheast.
It was impossible to tell if his eyes were green or red, but they were void of life.
Sapphire let out a cry of terror, clasping a hand over her mouth as her dark blue eyes flicked to the scar on the boys head
"i-its.. its Ruby.."
