I have the answer.
Birth Control.
I swear by it.

You may also have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, a headache, or light headedness. Some or all of these problems may start a day or two before your menstrual period and last for part of or all of your menstrual period. Which is completely normal. Do not fear even though it sucks hardcore.

Menstrual cramps are caused by contractions of your uterus as the blood leaves your uterus. Gross, yes, we all know. But Birth control makes your periods lighter and less painful. YAY!

Believe it or not, there is some means of birth control that can even eliminate your period. (Until you want to have a baby of course) Some women have such bad periods they use this. And it is becoming really popular among college students.

Today, Modern women endure up to nine times more periods than their great-grandmothers, who began menstruating later, married young and naturally suppressed periods for years while they were pregnant or breast-feeding. Today's women may have about 450 periods. NOO!! scream

The mini-pill is taken every day without a break. A girl who is taking the mini-pill may have no period at all or she may go several months without a period. For the minipill to work, it must be taken at the same time every day, without missing any doses. Can you say BEACH TIME!?

The Pill usually costs between $20 and $50 a month, depending on the type. Many health and family planning clinics (such as Planned Parenthood) sell birth control pills for less. At my local health clinic I received it for free because I didn't want my mom to know I was sexual active. In addition, birth control pills and doctor visits are covered by many health insurance plans. So if you can, ask your parents.

To add, Recent studies have shown that using the Pill (with estrogen and progestin) for a year or more helps protect against uterine cancer. Long-term Pill use protects against ovarian cancer! YAY! 4laugh

Most of this information I got on the internet.
I am on the BC called YAZ.
It is has less of the hormones that other birth controls have.
Meaning that it is safer. Even though most birth control is safe anyways.
So if you can, and your doctor OKs it. You should try Birth Control for you horrible Pains.

COOL Birth Control

--- A new type of birth control pill (Seasonale or Seasonique) has a longer cycle than other pills. With this type of pill, you have only 4 menstrual periods each year. rofl
---An IUD called Mirena releases a hormone into the uterus. This not only prevents pregnancy but also relieves menstrual cramping and bleeding after a few months of use.
---One birth control pill called Yasmin (Yaz is the updated one) reduces severe mood and physical symptoms that some women get before they start their monthly periods. These symptoms are called premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

PMDD is a severe form of PMS. It causes physical and mood-related symptoms that seriously disrupt a woman's life and relationships. PMDD symptoms develop during the latter half of each menstrual cycle, after ovulation, and go away during the first few days of each menstrual period.

Signs of PMDD
feelings of sadness, hopelessness, anxiety, irritability and sensitivity, anger, being overwhelmed, and the need to withdraw from others. Physical and behavioral symptoms include lack of energy, problems with concentrating, sleep problems, food cravings or binge eating, breast tenderness, bloating and weight gain, headaches, and joint or muscle pain.

If this fits you, make an appointment with your doctor right away!

PM me if you want. I know a lot about Birth Control.

Just wanted to add to that. "Safe" might be an opinion here. All birth control has side effects, some of which can be deadly. Those serious side effects may be rare, so you could say that birth control is safe for most women, but it is still deadly for others. Sometimes the FDA releases birth control without testing it as thoroughly as they probably should as well.

Thats why I added the doctor thing. Of course. And no not every birth control works for everyone. And not everyone can have birth control. But If you do have horrible cramps, birth control is a good option if you are getting to the point were you are dreading your period. You know?
I totally agree with you, some women can't touch the hormones in the pills. But that is why you should always see a doctor first. xp

And to add to that, I have heard a lot of girls say that their ob-gyn did not require a pap smear when they gave them their pills. I often urge girls to ask for the pap anyway. Better safe than sorry. Even though getting a pap might be a little awkward, I would want my doctor to actually look me over before just shoving pills at me and sending me on my way, you know?

TOTALLY. You are going to have to get it done sooner or later. Better to do it sooner than wait until later. If it bothers you, look for a girl gyno. It isn't as awkward, when you have a girl. ( At least I feel that way )
