((Demyx + Zelos for now, will probably ask others to join once further in RP <3 ))

It was hot...-way- too hot. Generally speaking a desert should be hot, unless it was of the frozen variety, but still, it was -way- too hot.

Admist the shifting sands of the desert landscape, a miserable, whining, clump of black lay flopped on the ground. The one named Demyx shifted uncomfortably, hoping that by some miracle he could escape the heat.

It didn't work.

Giving another frustrated whine, the oddly dressed one sprawled on his belly...then his back...then sat up....then flopped over again. -Nothing- was curing this damn heat! He could try walking again, to find some shade, but he'd already walked so far and found nothing...

Zelos didn't give the weather any notice as he sauntered through the dunes.

The dry heat kind of made him all sweaty, which was bad, but the temperature had it's advantages. Surely he could attract the eye of a new hunny by taking off his vest and gloves at the right moment, and showing off his fine physique. And the sun really made his hair shine. Hunnies just couldn't resist playing with long, red, shiny hair.

His sharp eye, usually used for spotting females, caught sight of something black flopped in the sand. It could have been a girl, in which case he would leap to her rescue and escort her to somewhere shady.

With a cool smile and a heroic phrase ready, he approached the black blob.

It was at that moment that Demyx decided to once again flop onto his stomach. Now facing Zelos, the blonde blinked a few times before quickly leaping to his paws. Great, it was freaking hot, AND there was some strange -thing- out here with....shiny wings.

...Shiny was good.

BUT STILL. It was scary suddenly being approached like that! What if the thing wanted to eat him? Huh? What then?

"W-who are you??"

The cloaked one fidgeted nervously, and instinctively pulled his hood over his head. Well, that didn't help with the heat situation, but somehow it made him feel just a bit safer. He could still peer out of course, but it'd be harder for the other to examine him.

Zelos paused and blinked. That voice certainly didn't sound like a hunny. But it was a bit too scared and high pitched to tell for certain, especially with the long coat and hood pulled up.

His smile didn't falter. "I am the great Zelos Wilder. Who might you be, sitting all alone out in this scorching heat?"

While he talked smoothly, he appraised the potential hunny in front of him. They certainly were lacking in practicality to be wearing such a large, dark coat in the middle of the desert. But then again, practicality wasn't very high up on his vocabulary list either.

Okay...smiles were good...hopefully. As long as it wasn't some sadistic smile of course. But, this guy seemed to be okay.

Still, it wasn't any reason for Demyx to go welcoming him with open paws. Instincts told him to keep his distance for at least a bit longer.

"Erm...hiya Zelos."

A master of words he certainly wasn't, but at least for the moment he was fidgeting a bit less than before.

"I'm Demyx! I'm....not exactly great, or well known, so you probably haven't heard of me before."

And who would? It wasn't like he was supposed to exist anyway.

"As for the heat thing, I'm not really fond of either...and for being alone? Well...er...."

Sigh, just as he had managed to slow his fidgeting he grew incredibly nervous again. So much for progress.

"I'm er....kinda....lost."

By that point Zelos figured it certainly wasn't a hunny he was talking to, and so he didn't really pay attention to the other's name. It wasn't important anyway. He wasn't interested in guys.

He thought about turning around to leave with little more than a polite farewell, but something about the kid's pathetic answer and pathetic flopping kept him from wandering back of in the direction he came from. Zelos gave a grudging sigh.

"C'mon kid, I'll take you to a shady spot."

He could always just ditch the kid there if it was too troublesome letting him tag along.

Zelos would quickly gain the attention of the other at the mention of shade. Shade...was a glorious thing, and Demyx wanted to be in it as quickly as possible. For a brief moment the blonde held back and studied Zelos, but soon enough Demyx was bounding over to his side.

"R-really? Thanks!!"

No longer feeling the need to totally hide, he tossed his head back to let the hood fall back in place on his back. That done, the kid's freaky spikey hair was now in full view.

Yeahhhh he certainly wasn't the normal type. Then again Zelos wasn't really that normal either.

Um, wow. The kid was sure enthusiastic, and kinda weird looking. Zelos briefly wondered if it had been such a good idea letting this one tag along. Still, the Great Zelos Wilder wouldn't go back on his word, at least not this time. Rescuing a poor, pathetic waif from the hot sun was certainly a heroic story any hunny would fall for.

"Yeah, just follow me," he said, trying not to wrinkle his nose at the kid's hair.

He started leading the way through the desert, towards the closest shady spot he could remember. If he recalled correctly, there was a small stand of cacti not too far away that would give the kid at least a little bit of shade until the sun rose a bit higher.

Normally, Demyx would be bounding along at the other's side, wings flapping and mouth going a mile a minute as he recounted some random story.

But, normally, he wouldn't be so hot either. So instead the kid trudged along at Zelos' side, and tried very hard to keep his whining about the heat to a minimum. It didn't work so well though, the blonde was still whimpering pitifully every few minutes.

"Why's it gotta be so hooot?..."

Nevermind the fact it was a -desert-.

Zelos didn't quite manage to keep from rolling his eyes.

"It's a desert, deserts are hot," he said, quite literally stating the obvious. "You wouldn't be so hot if you wore something more stylish."

This kid really needed some help, with all the whimpering and whining he would never get a hunny to spend more than two minutes with him. It was a good thing Zelos found him, he could learn a couple things before being left to fend for himself again.

"Well deserts are not very high on my likes list then...mmrph...and hey, this -is- stylish!...and...well it's kinda dress code for me."

Demyx trudged on, hoping that shade came relatively fast because the heat was really starting to get to him. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he got his mind off it? But....well the only way to do that right now was....

"Heeey...erm...Zelos? Why are your wings so shiny? And...why is your hair so BRIGHT? And and...what's with the nifty gloves?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 31, 2007 1:35 pm

Zelos didn't think style could be intelligently discussed with someone who's hair couldn't decide if it was going up or down. He didn't even dignify the kid's comment with a response.

Now usually he loved talking about himself, but on the other hand, it was too much work to remember them all, coming at him so fast. He would have put in some effort if it had been talking to a hunny rather than an annoying little brat.

"These gloves perfectly compliment the rest of my outfit, and they keep the sand from bothering my paws. They are pretty nice, aren't they?"

He grinned, an expression just brimming with self-satisfaction and narcissistic pride.

"....They'd be nicer if they weren't pink."

Pink was also not very high on his like list. It wasn't that he say....hated it. But pink was more suited to say...Marluxia. Demyx was all about shades of blue.

"They're neat though! Just....weird color."

The kid's ears flattened at the lack of response to his other questions. Well -fine- then, he didn't really need to know the answer anyway.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 31, 2007 1:43 pm

Well that was a comment Zelos couldn't just let slide. He shot a disapproving frown in the kid's direction.

"Hey, kid. There's nothing wrong with pink, hunnies love it."

Just as he was about to continue they reached the top of a small sand dune, and were within sight of the cactus stand. The tall plants were the only landmark in sight, and there was enough shade behind them for both Zelos and his tag-along to relax for a bit and get out of the sun.

"....What's a hunny?"

Demyx was curious, but as they reached the top of the sand dune something else caught his attention. CACTUS....well okay he wasn't all that familiar with cactus, but he could practically -feel- the water they had inside. Water was good. In fact, water was one of his favorite things.

So, without waiting for a reply, the youth let out a happy cry and bounded down the dune and towards their destination.
