If your poems are short, then your poems are short. In poetry, poems don't have to be long. One of the best poems I have ever read was only two lines long. Now, if you are talking about the context of your poetry, that is something entirely different. If you want to improve your poetry, I suggest you improve your vocabulary and your experiences in life. Write whatever comes to mind sometimes, whether it is structured or not. I find stream-of-consciouness things can be very useful in writing poetry.

Suggestions of writing longer poems? Um...That's kinda hard since it would usually just don on me. Just don't force it to come. If you think of a good idea jot it down and then just wait for it to come. I mean it takes me a day or two to write a poem because when the idea comes I don't force the lines to come. I just sometimes say something then a line just comes to me...So I suggest that you wait? I don't even know if that's a good suggestion... sweatdrop
