 This is Jean, but that is beside the point. :3I've been working on this for a while and most of that time was dedicated to trying to figure out how to create shadows and highlights. Above is what I have down so far. I don't think the highlights and shadows aren't that... I don't know a word to sum it up... I guess it looks kind of dull? The fire-ball also looks dull as well. Any suggestions to spruce up the shading/highlights would be very much appreciated! Also other critiques (style, anatomy, etc) are welcomed too. Thank-you~ ^^

The white in the fire ball stands out a lot maybe try to brighten the rest of the fire a bit with some white. Also maybe lighten the left side of his face some more.

Harsh lighting requires harsh shadows too. Deep the shadows a bit more. ^^

Oh, sorry! I think his small midsection threw me off. I'm a really uncurvy girl, so there you go. >x< The finished version looks lovely, though!
