 As I'm typing this, there are currently four burly plumbers drilling in my house. xd
They need to fix a subpump that is conveniently located in the middle of the house, behind our kitchen cabinets. Great.
So, drill drill drill, they do, and I'm thinking of abandoning ship and invading a friend's house to escape the noise.
Ever had people work on your house? Ever feel awkward just standing there or watching TV while they work? That's why the to this room is closed. I don't think they've found me yet. ninja They might soon, and have to dig for oil where my computer monitor is standing.

I remember when our refrigerator was broken and I felt horribly awkward while they worked and I was eating a bagel at the kitched counter. X3
Although when we had our walls painted in our house there were these really nice women that were a lot of fun. They stayed for dinner. :3

Oh I hate that! When ever anyone is over working on our house it's just so weird...I mean, I don't want to get in the way, but some times it's like...um I want to help? Weird, yeah. But true.

Ani_May_Queen Oh I hate that! When ever anyone is over working on our house it's just so weird...I mean, I don't want to get in the way, but some times it's like...um I want to help? Weird, yeah. But true. I liked it better when people were working on the roof. All I heard was some noises on the roof and I could go playing my Nintendo without the interruption of guilt.
But at lunch I brought them a pitcher of ice cold water and cups. heart

Except with roofing, it leaves holes in the ceiling... sweatdrop
I came home one day during the summer, parked my bike in the back away from the stray shingles and stuff, and walked inside.
...to find water dripping from the ceiling though every light fixture in the west side of the house. It dripped into my parents' bedroom west-outside facing wall, which got infested with mold.
We had to have our home repair friend come by and tear down the wall while my parents slept in the basement.

Which was funny, because his 15 year old son (my age!) was helping him work the wall. While I guiltily read a book, and instead of hanging around, later I asked Mom for a ride to the knitting store.
And this guy is repaing my parents' wall.

The last work person that came through was cable, and he did come through this room to add cable to it. (I'm on DSL for the PC.) I kept using my PC as if he wasn't there as I figured being overly chatty would delay his work and cause him to be there longer.
Most not fun was when my kitchen had to be rewired and power was cut through the entire house. All I had to entertain myself was my gameboy. ^^;;;

Mostly, it's my Dad fixing stuff around the house. He's fixed the plumbing, installed two new toilets, leveled the foundation and that's only on our house. On our new house, he's remodled everything himself and only hired 4 people to help.
So, atleast if you pay people, you can watch. Dad expects me to help. That is when I try to find myself convinently elsewhere. Though, I did help him install a new hot water heater.
