The winter had been hard, much like every winter he had lived though, and how he loathes them... nearly as much as the Herla whole he dared to share the living space with. now that is was spring, it was much easer to find food. small rodents, and even a rabbit if he could get his fangs on it. and onto of all that. it was the Herla's breeding season, meaning that there would be fresh fawn he could hope on snagging from there mothers.
licking his paw casually, satisfied after a good morning meal, the black and crimson Fox gazed blankly out over the sloping field, wondering what he could do for the rest of the day.

D.S.'s tail twitched as she studied the most evil of prey: a squirrel. The whole lot would die at her claws if she could catch them! Hiding up in the trees and raining painful things down on her, how DARE they? The fox gave a deep growl before leaping at the creature of evil.
The squirrel merely blinked at the fox and scampered up its tree without much thought or hesitation.
D.S. tried to follow it but couldn't dig her claws deep enough and slid down the truck of the tree. She was then met by small objects being thrown at her by her aforementioned prey. With a final glare at the puny evil rodent, she stole off and in Jasper's direction. Uncaring, she broke out of the bushes right in front of him, tail and head high, searching for food.
As it was the Russian Silver was underfed even in these times of plenty. Battle scars and wounds littered her fur. She was a fighter and unafraid.

he could smell her even before he could see her. preparing himself, by raising to his feet, he arched his back, fur raising along his back, baring his teeth dangerously as another fox suddenly came into view. "it would be wise to turn around and go back where you came from" his deep voice vibrated though his growls.
as much as he hated Deer, he still found it possible to dislike his own kind, almost as much... in fact... he didn't thin there was anything he liked... except maybe dead rodents.

The vixen paused in mid stride and turned to him, baring her teeth. The silver fox was already in full swing for a fight. She bristled her fur and let out a low growl. "Perhaps," She hissed a snarl forming in her throat, "it is you who should turn back. I have no time to deal with stupidity."

"this is MY territory!" he barked, "now this is your last warning before i rip you apart! go BACK to where you care from" muzzled wrinkled dangerously he lunged forward, displaying a warning strike with his paw, not getting close enough to actually hit her.

The female tilted her head to the side, growl stopping. "Your territory?" She questioned pulling back into a sitting position. Her risen eyebrows declared her disbelief at such a tale. "That's impossible as I claimed this land for my own." Her voice darkened in to malice. "The only thing holding me back are those stupid deer. They think they're the centers of the Earth."

he let out a indigent snort. narrowing his silver eyes at her "vile stupid beasts. they draw man and wolves here to. but that changes nothing! this land is mine," he back up slightly, taken by surprise from her sudden halt in defensive posture. he looked her up and down, trying to find any off muscle tension, in case she was trying to trick him and attack when he dropped his guard.

D.S.'s muscles were completely relaxed. True this male showed violence but she wasn't afraid of him. Snarling and fighting weren't going to get her anywhere but injured. She was already too weak to chase most of her prey so another hindering would would not be tolerated. The female brushed her tail against her chest and watched him closely.
"Ah, so then we're on the same train of thought..." She replied with another light tilt of her head. "What I wouldn't give to bring down one of their foolish fawns..." The female dug her claws into the earth with a sudden thrust, as if the thought alone was satisfying.
This male was blunt and convinced of his position. To make it out without a large fight she'd have to play at his game. Her eyes were blazing but her voice was the opposite, clam and cold. "Listen, kit... I have no time to waste with you. I must find something to hunt."

she didn't seem to be a thread anymore. but just because he body said one thing. didn't mean her mind was thinking the same. throw off by the sudden change. he relaxed slightly, lowering himself into a seating position, but prepareing himself for any kind of action on her part. "once there Anlach is over there should be plenty of that. but its not as easy as you think. they have very carefull outrider" he sniffed, and ran his claws over his chin. though his goatee "and you are only permitted to hunt here with my Blessing, and you have not received that yet" he said, eyes narrowing at her

O great, not another one of those. Their blessing? Talk about childish. The female eyed the other, now judging how strong he was. He was well fed which meant there was plenty of prey in this area. She needed some of that...
She hated to do this. No, she LOATHED doing this but she had no choice in the matter. It was either hunt or die at his point. Her voice dripped with sarcasm. "What do I have to do to obtain your blessing, my lord."

he snorted, rolling his eyes "don't you mock me!" he snapped. standing again and throwing his head from side to side angrily "now get out of my territory before i rip you apart!" arrogant Female, this was a reason he could not even stand his own kind. the thought if letting her have the Prey on his land, made him ill, if she wanted something to eat. she would have to go somewhere else.

The female put her tail between her legs. She should have left her sarcasm behind. She decided one more try couldn't hurt well it could but still...
"Listen I apologize. I am just want a small rabbit, a rat, anything at this point. I will repay you somehow." She told him with a forced smile. "I could hunt for you..."
That made her sound like his slave, great.

the blood colored Fox eyed the female long and hard. an expression of distaste on his slim face, as much as he hated that idea. she had mentioned something he could later find use for... she would of cource owe him for the Meat he permitted her... payment... or a favor.
tilting his face up. he lifted his paw, and ran his claws though his goatee. "pay me back you say?"

D.S. pinned her ears back. He hadn't jumped up and said 'Yay slave woman!' so she took that as a good sign. "Yes, I would pay you back in anyway that you wish." She brushed her tail across her muzzle and soothed herself. She was getting tired of waiting for these games to end.
