i posted this on the forums, but i want to know what you guys think of it. What is Love?
love is an equation that mathematicians can't explain what are the variables how do you solve it math teaches balance that which you do must be done to both halves that which you add must later be subtracted perhaps this applies to love is love a parabola forming an even curve or is it a circle with no beginning and no end maybe love is two equations that come together at a specific point my thought is this, love is two parallel lines and everyone will waste their lives trying to find the point where they intersect

I liked it. I think it's true, people will wind up wasting time trying to figure it out...

i'm glad you enjoyed it, the people who read it on the forum said the ending didn't make sense. but you understood it right?

Yes. I think. Tell me if this is right, because this is what I get out of it:
Two parallel lines represent love and the two people it takes for love. But you waste your time trying to find out where you two meet because you don't actually meet at all. It's more of an agreement that you're on in the same, just like each other and that's where the attraction lies.
I'm probably way off base with that...

That was really truly excellent. I loved the metaphor, it was a perfect symbol. Good job!

I don't know, maybe because other people aren't deep thinkers... They don't see the meaning that lies behind the poetry, just the poetry itself.

that's probably it, in which case they shouldn't be critiquing poetry in the first place.

You're right. The people who criticize me tell me it's too depressing, but if they knew what the point was, then they wouldn't criticize me. They would understand why I talk about slitting my wrists and being killed by another person...

I like it! I agree that people arn't deep thinkers maybe...I'm just saying that this is a great poem and it has a great ending. I like how you compared the two! You did a really good job! heart
