Pro-'Choice'rs seem to think that Pro-Lifers are only males and women who are tricked into giving up their 'rights'. This frustrates me, and I want to hear what the rest of ya'll think. Some things said by them:
"It's not his body. My body, my choice."
"Their [men] only reason is we are "killing" their boys."
"I don't understand why some women want to revoke what should be every woman's right to her own body. It really sickens me."
PostPosted: Wed Nov 10, 2004 11:49 am

Lol....what sickens me is the fact they refuse to acknowledge that they can't have their cake and eat it too. I mean,

Man and Woman have sex. Woman gets pregnant. Woman can either,

A. Abort
B. Adopt out
C. Raise the child.

Man can

A. lose his child
B. Pay as much as he can for the birth and possibly gain custody or let the kid go.
C. Pay a bunch of money

Woman=legal rights to choose either A,B, or C.

Man=legal rights to live with what the woman wants, lose his child if she aborts, or pay tons in child support if she keeps it....he has no choice either way.

So men really do deserve a say in this, I know that if anything ever threatened to hurt me, my dad would be livid. Not just because I'm grown, because when mom was pregnant with my brother, he wouldn't let her do any work at all, eat any foods that people were saying might be bad for the baby, or let any of their more questionable college buddies visit. We were his children, in the womb, as much as we are out of it. He would be devestated if mom miscarried; severely depressed if she ever aborted. The lasting impressions abortion leaves on men is completely disregarded by prochoicers. "It's not his body." But it is his child. That, "it's not his body," argument always makes as much sense to me as saying it's legal to kill someone dependant on you so that you don't have to deal with taking care of them. That would make....oh.....everyone in my household besides my dad eligible for legal killing. It's heartless to cast aside a man's feelings and change his life without him having any choice in the matter whatsoever. Pro-choice is a bad term for it. Pro-convenience is more like it.

And anyway, most guys I know are Pro-choice because it means when they knock someone up, they don't have to pay child support, they could pressure her into abortion. The risk factor of pregnancy is taken out. Most ADULT men I know are pro-life. In fact, most adult women I know are pro-life....maybe it's the fact they've grown up enough to learn responsibility? But yeah, I dunno why they think that. Giving up my rights? Trying to revoke a right that should belong to all of us? Nah ah, no way, any one of my friends can tell you that I am woman, hear me roar. I am for fairness. I am for treating people fairly. I am for human rights, yes this is because of my morals, yes I will impose them, and the more you champion "Women's Rights," the more hypocritical I view you because legal abortion revokes the right to choose from all but one group, and all else affected by the decision can go to hell for all you care as long as you can live your life conveniently. Gah. (you is choicers, not you, lol).

I guess my standards are too high. After all, I expect for humans to have a certain amount of morality. My highest praise goes towards people like MLK and Ghandi. When you play the numbers game, abortion is not a solution to a problem. Abortion is denial that there is a problem. Abortion is denial that you are at risk. Abortion is running away and hiding because you're not mature enough to live up to the consequences. Abortion is an act of cowardice that disgusts me. That someone could kill to keep on having sex without worrying disgusts me.

They already had their choice when they chose to be promiscuous. I'm for equality in that respect...but only in that I think men shouldn't be promiscuous either, as opposed to making it easier for women to be.

and if they're already married, then they have absolutely no business killing a legitimate child. Not that the b*****d children have any less right to live, but the fact that they're married proves to me that there's two parents and a kid, and killing that kid is wrong no matter what way they go about it.

Though I could easily go on a diatribe in regards to my views on marriage, I'll spare you from that. Besides, it would take a while.

AMEN!

You have just articulated what I have been trying to say ever since I became pro life. I am male and pro-life because there is just something immoral about distroying innocent life, no matter how small or insignificant

that's why you add the word human before life. Animals aren't as important as humans.

Animals aren't as important as humans!?!?!?!?!? They may be the lesser beings on the earth, but it is our duty to protect and care for them as the higher beings, and that does not mean they are not as important. Pro-life does not necessarily mean just against abortion. It can include other things as well and should be included when you say that you are prolife.

Of course animals aren't as important. Besides, I'm not pro-life. I'm anti-babykilling. Other than that I'm pretty pro-death.

Well....everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I am going to believe what I am going to believe. I still think we have a duty to care for the other creatures on this Earth.

So, your saying that you don't care if someone dies if they are 3 and up, but you do if they are babies? That doesn't make sense, if we went like that, there would be no people left, and no people to have babies.

I'm an animal lover. Guilty of that. I've got two dogs, two cats, and lost a few others in my life. I know them enough to have personalities. Having said that, if it came to saving a human or a dog and I could only do one, a human would be more important simply because I am human and hold human life in high regard. I would personally risk my health or even life for an animal I loved, I'm just like that. but when it comes down to it, human life is more important to me than animal life. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to swat mosquitos without feeling guilty. I'm higher on the food chain, I've got a more developed brain, I've got the ability and drive to survive, If it comes to, "You or me," with an animal outside of humans, I'm picking to save myself. We have a certain responsibility, just like we do to keeping our environment from completely dying, because we have great power compared to other species. We have a responsibility, but we have a higher responsibility to fellow humans by virtue of the fact that humans are pack animals and need eachother. It's written into our DNA to take care of our own (we're family packs....very much so) and to place humans above other lifeforms. I'm not a vegetarian, because I like being healthy, personally, and I don't wanna see meat go to waste because then that's a pointless death. I am strongly opposed to pointless death. I don't mind hunting or fishing, as long as you eat what you kill. I place human life above all other life simply because I am human, and because I am human, I have a responsibility to humans before other species.

I believe that what the Wench is saying is that s/he (Gosh, I can't remember just now...) is pro-Death Penalty, Pro-Iraqi War. Not that s/he's ok with killing of humans above the age of 3 indiscriminately.

Eh, personally, I don't think it's my duty to protect animals. I also don't see anything wrong with eating meat, whether you hunted for it yourself or were given it. If it didn't die by you killing it, it just would have died by another animal killing it, most likely.

However, hunting for sport with no intention of eating/selling/giving the meat to anyone... That I think is wrong.

there you go, moral obligation to animals. biggrin Yeah. When I think about it, I'm not very prolife since I'm pro-death penalty. That's about it. Pro-war is pro-life....it saves lives, only when it's necessary but when it is, it saves lives. Both are necessary evils, I feel. No problem with meateating. at all. me I mean. Just have a problem of animal abuse. I'm one of those people who feels I have the ability to stand up for people and things that can't stand up for themselves, so I should use it. After all, look what guild I'm in....in a way, I feel it as my duty to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves. Sometimes this includes animals. Cosmetic animal testing is....bleck, can't deal with it, they basically torture them, and for what? A new line of l'oreal lipstick. Because of course the world is in need of lipstick. Medical testing, however....don't have a problem with that. I'm like a Klingon. An honorable death should not be denied to anyone or anything. Death without purpose is the saddest death there is, in my opinion. But that's just me.

Ignoring everyone else's little thing there I shall throw in something as well. The difference between choice and life is that lifers are saying it's NOT the woman's choice, and that, that is a baby. Killing it for your convienience is wrong. The protection and conservation of someone's life isn't discriminatory towards one gender. Simply because the life is dependant on a woman for a few months doesn't mean that a male can't say that, that life is worth living and the chance to live.

Pro-choice is just that "Whatever the woman wants, it's her choice." Their mindset is completely different, so they don't process the male opinion the same as the pro-life side would. What really bugs me is pro-choice males.

Wanna know why? Because they're supposedly for the woman's right to choose, correct? Well I am a woman so by their own standards shouldn't my opinion on the subject be automatically more valid than there's?

From now on I shall not argue with a pro-choice male. I automatically win.
