I used to go to this church a few times a week. for certain reasons (that I wont specify) I hadn't been there in a few months. today I decided to visit the church, see how everyone was doing, ect. and it was absolutely terrible. everyone kept staring at me, they all wanted hugs and they all said the same things "how have you been? we missed you. we love you. Jesus still loves you. Jesus is right here with you. I'll be praying for you" and it wouldn't stop. I almost had a panic attack they where all concentrating on me, they all wanted to save me.

I remember being just like them, when I saw a "backslider" come back I remember saying the sames things in hope that it would help them. but it really doesn't. its just scary and overwhelming. it just made me scared, self conscious and angry.

I really don't know what I'm trying to say. I just wanted to share this with someone. have you guys ever experienced this? am I just crazy?

wow, that's actually quite...revealing. When I was a Deacon, I was always encouraged to do that. We even had a phone plan set up to call the people up to "Make sure they're okay".

I just now saw it for teh harrassment it could have been seen as sweatdrop

Well, they where trying to care right??

I know you're angry at them but it's the thought that counts. They're just worried about you going to hell. And the fact you haven't been there. I mean, it like a family member leaving then coming back. You worry about them and wanna hear about them.

And the first time, when they shunned her? How was that caring?

Huh? I don't see that anywhere in her post...

But even if they did, it hard to love ALL the time. I love my RDG kids, and I want what best for them doesn't mean they don't tick me off and make me wanna be anywhere but near them. Does that mean I hate them? No, it means I just don't like them right now.

Eh, I guess she didn't post that part. I'm in contact with her outside of the Guild, so I know a bit more of the story than she posted.

However, she did mention that she wasn't wantign to specify any reasons, so I'll leave it at that.

I've experianced much the same thing when I left church for two years and then went back. It's uncomfortable... I never really talked to anyone but one family in that church, and thats because I knew them since I was little. So, I had all these people I didn't even know coming up to me, asking where I've been and why I haven't been coming, and that they miss me, and hope I'll be back next week. Well, I went back once more, a year or so later. I honestly don't like attending church. I find it too closed minded for my liking. I don't like discrimiation, and I don't like people saying other beliefs are wrong... the paster at some said the Roman Catholics are headed down the wrong path or something like that, and then he later praied for the Islamic people. They have a similar beleaf as Christians. They believe in one God. Sure there are a few differences, but I wouldn't pray over it saying they are wrong to believe what they do. It just rubs me the wrong way.

I have Christian beliefs, but I've grown apart from what the chruch wants. So I don't much like attending. I used to be a willing regular at church, then my moms car broke and we had no way to get there. For two years I didn't go, and my views widened.
Why? how was that relevent to what I said?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, that time when the Pastor said the stuff about the Roman Catholics, by boyfriend was there. It was the frist time he'd ever been to my church, and he grew up Roman Catholic. Needless to say, he was kind of offended.

I should also add, I guess, that I didn't start attending church till I was in grade 7... so like 12-13 I used to go with my brother and my mom. I almost got baptised, actually. But then, while the pastor was down one day, I suddenly got the feeling that it wasn't the right step for me at the moment, that something was going to happen, a life lesson for me... and so, I didn't get baptised. My mom and brother did. That life lesson took me two years to break out of. It was just a bunch of lies and wiccan wanna bes. though I never lost faith, I knew my walk would never be the same. A test from God, and I almost failed it.
(the two years = 8th grade to my repeat year of 9th)

Okay, I was just curious, just from other topics, I didn't wanna think you where a Christian if you wheren't, I mean I would of thought that Pirate was just a very disgruntaled Christian who hates me at first if it wasn't for her sigs. So I just wanted to know.

But yeah, your pastor probable meant by the Roman Catholic remark was probable at this creepy worship of the mother Marry some Catholics are doing, for example. I know a devote catholic who says praying to the mother Marry is about as good as praying to God and that creeped me out a bit.

Plus he told me that his father preacher dude told the church basically "God will always forgive you can do whatever you want but make sure you confess it once a week" or whatever. That really not Godly right there -- But my friend could but well -- a bad catholic. XD But he could of meant that.

Probable not the most politically correct thing to say, but remember forgive people.
