Yes, I looked out the window some Friday night, and after seeing an immense amount of fog outside in the 11:00 night air, I decided to take a stroll.
So, what I did was get my cane (I have a wooden cane that is sleek black) and a yellow frilly poncho (It's very precious to me) and walked out into the night air. I breathed and filled my lungs with fog, and put on some of that marvelous mysterious folk music and I was off.
The whole world looks so different when it's foggy. Kind of creepy, but so marvelous all the same. I loved every minute of it. I wandered around south Elmhurst for well over a half hour around midnight, thinking of fairies and how these are the nights they like to come out. So great. I can't wait to do this in Switzerland when I'm traveling.
Your thoughts?

Fog/rain-walking is pretty fun. Haven't done it in a good while, other than when I'm walking from the bus stop and the weather suits it.
Cakewalking if fun too (if you're referring to the recording program).

I dislike the fog, especially at night. I'm sure it is a pleasant experience to go for walks in the fog at night, , but I am more of a star gazer and even own my own telescope. Nocturnal ventures of the sort I take part in involve staring up at the night sky... which is a bit difficult when there is fog about.

I could also see how that would be annoying.
I love the stars too, but living near Chicago doesn't allow much stargazing. At night you can barely see the Little Dipper. *sigh*

I lucked out where I currently live. I used to live in Antelope (near Sacramento, CA) and the streets were so well lit at night that even my backyard was unusable.
I moved to a different town, less than 50 miles a way. While the front still remains way too bright at night due to someone else in the house deciding to stick motion sensor lights up all over the front -_- The backyard gets pitch black. It almost got the same treatment, but I was like nooo... my telescope.

That's awesome Sheard. I wish my backyard got dark like that.

When it gets dark in the yard, we sometimes let Holly out in the summer.
Holly being our 11 year-old Shar-pei black dog with cloudy green eyes.
We can see her in the yard, her eyes floating around like they have *cough* jetpacks. It's hysterical. heart

Mm, I love walking in the rain. When I was away at camp once, everyone thought I was crazy because I stayed out in the rain for at least ten minutes, just twirling around.
Mist/Fog is awesome too, I love it. I feel like I'm in another world.
As for star-gazing, I love looking at the stars, but as Encelaudus said, living outside of the Windy City isn't actually helpfull for this sort of thing. That's why I love going to my uncle's house. He lives out in the country and I swear to any and all gods the night sky out there is the most beautiful thing.

Switzerland? Lucky!
I went there during the summer and I completely fell in love with the country. I want to go back so bad.
