....hmmm...whenever i get a new cat(normally a kitten)....i just let it roam over to the other cats....my other cats will normally get territorial....but after a few days they arent anymore and have accepted the new cat.....i dont really know a more peaceful way....but you do want the other cat to see the new cat.....just hold the older cat so it doesnt hurt the other.....

Make them play together or cuddle them at the same time

Put the new cat in a sperate room for a few days and switch the cats items so they become use to each other sent.

Well, we just got two new kittens and from what happened with our cats...
-The other cats were freaked out at first but after a time began to like the new cats. -Don't try to force their relationship. That just makes it worse. -If your old cat is over 3 or 4... they may not accept the new cat.
so it all depends on what happens. but don't be too disappointed if the cats don't like each other... it just happens.

If the cat is a kitten let them get to know each other by not interfering unless the older cat gets rough with the new kitty. By rough I mean grabing it, bitting hard, trying to eat the new kitty. I got my cat Kenzie a friend when she was one year old. At first she hissed and grawld, and did normal kitty things. After a few days she was mothering the new kitten. When my roomate moved in she brought her 3 grown cats with her to live with my 3 kitties, they got along very well, although my Kenzie ended up being the alfa kitty. They got along well after a few days and became a pride. If one didn't really like the other one, they ignored eachother. Good luck.

Is your cat a female? The new cat is a kitten, I'm assuming.
When we got Max, introducing him to Sasha was quite easy. But of course, Sasha wasn't fixed, so she still had(and still has!) a motherly instinct to take care of him. It was Max, the baby, who hissed and swatted at Sasha. But he was a baby, and I noticed that's how he played with his sisters.
When we had Cuddles and got Tiger, it was a different story.....Cuddles was very anti-social, and didn't take to Tiger very well. Also Tiger was a little you-know-what, so he instigated a lot of stuff between the two cats. Both Cuddles and Tiger are gone now, and although I'm a little sad about losing Tiger, getting rid of Cuddles was probably the best thing we did.

Vharing So my gf is getting a new cat today. I hope my cat dosnt hate her cat. Does anyone know of any ways to indroduce to cats to each other. Well if it is a small kitten remember to keep it on one floor. Also cats never tend to LOVE each other so keep that in mind. But they will eventually love each other like brother in sis (they will fight, not to seriose, but they will cuddle and play )
