Occupants: Keiki Mizuki, Chiyoko Niah, Myles Million
Keiki stepped softly as we walked down the hall, his foot steps echoing off of the stone walls. He flipped to the next page of his book and stopped right in front of the fifth dorm room. He stared at the door for a few seconds before sighing to himself and pushing the door open. The three beds were spread out around the room evenly, the head of one of the beds against the only window in the room. Keiki walked over and plopped himself on the bed, turning to the next page in his book.

Niah didn't have much to carry. All he really needed was contained within the small, calico-cat shaped backpack that he called "Sora". Niah wore it on his back now as he walked down the hallway, seeking his new dorm room. "One..." he counted softly to himself as he passed the first room; he could hear the sounds of talking from within. "Two....three.... four...." Niah's feet carried him to the fifth door. "....Five," the little half-phoenix whispered nervously.
Niah gulped, then put his hand on the doorknob and twisted. His face lit up when he saw the large room, full of windows and beds. "Wow!" he exclaimed happily, pushing the door open just wide enough to allow himself to walk in. Niah was so busy looking around that he didn't notice the other boy at first. When he did, he started for a moment before blushing a delicate pink.
"Oh! Umm, I'm sorry! You were just so quiet and still that I didn't, umm, notice you..." the redheaded boy said sheepishly, looking up at his roommate through long, pretty lashes. "I-I'm Niah! Chiyoko Niah!" the half-phoenix offered along with a hand and a hopeful smile.

Keiki stopped reading his book and looked up at the new occupant of his room. At first, the boy seemed oblivious to his existence, then appeared embarrassed as he took notice of him. Keiki stared at him in contemplation and interest. He said his name was Chiyoko Niah, right? He seems friendly enough. Don't want him to think I don't like him... Keiki sighed and stood up from the bed, putting the book down on the bed and shook Niah's hand. When he finished shaking it, there was a piece of paper remaining in Niah's palm, which read: Quote: "My name is Keiki Mizuki, but you may call me Keiki. Don't mind me, I just don't talk much. Don't get the wrong idea." With that, he watched Niah, waiting for any kind of response. He felt no anger towards Niah and kept a calm demeanor.

Niah smiled. "Nice to mee-! huh?" the half-phoenix began before he noticed the paper in his hand. "Keiki...." Niah read the note, then looked up. "A-alright!" he said, giving the other boy a nervous smile. Keiki might have said not to worry about it, but it still made him kinda nervous... What if he didn't like birds or something? Or if he just didn't want a roomate? Niah tried to be cheerful, though. Even if Keiki might not like him now (emphasis on the "might"), he wouldn't help that by being unfriendly.
"So... I guess you don't want me to talk a whole lot, huh?" Niah asked hesitantly, looking at Keiki with large, slightly sheepish eyes. Niah was a little embarassed even to ask, but... Well, it seemed important. Maybe Keiki hated noise and things. And niah knew he could be loquacious if left to his own devices.

Keiki didn't realize he made the poor guy uncomfortable. He shook his head side to side, waving his arms in front of him, in an attempt to tell him that he was wrong. The he motioned to turn the piece of paper around to the back, where it reads: Quote: Go ahead and to anything you like normally, I just don't like hearing my voice is all. -Keiki I hope I didn't offend him...

"O-oh..." Niah said, reading the back. He looked up at the other boy, cocking his head slightly to the side. "Why not?" Niah asked innocently, his child-like eyes wide. Niah broke into a smile, a beautifully innocent one. "I bet I like it," the half-phoenix said happily. Niah wasn't trying to urge Keiki to speak for him, in actuality. He was just saying what was true. Niah didn't even realise that what he'd said might be taken as manipulative, though. It was just his luck that it could be.

Keiki cocked an eyebrow. He couldn't help but smile, but he turned his head to the right as soon as he felt it coming on. He sighed, then turned back to Niah and shrugged.
"Alright, point taken. The actuality of the situation is just I don't like speaking, I feel that there are many others ways that one can express themselves without having to speak, of course I'm not one to force my principles upon anyone else, but it remains the truth. On another note, people tend to not think before they talk, a habit that I despise, so I remain in silent protest against such behavior. And still there is the reason that I do not like my own voice. Simply speaking, there is no reason as to why I wouldn't like my own voice, but it's common in society for one not to like to listen to themselves for various reasons. Most the time it's self consciousness, but I found out a long time ago that most people get annoyed with me after the first conversation, something about not being able to shut up once I start. Anyway, those are the first reasons that come to mind. I'm sure that if I think of anything else, they will be expressed in writing because odds are that you, undoubtedly, are probably annoyed with my speaking as everyone else is. While I'm talking, do you need any help with your stuff?"

(( Hope you don't mind me taking the liberty, but since there's a free spot in this dorm... ))
"Number five. I think this was the one..."
Hearing voices inside, Myles knocks on the door before leaning in the door.
"Hello. I think I may be the third roomie in this one... if I'm reading the scrawl on this paper right?"

Niah listened for about 3 seconds before breaking into the biggest, happiest smile you've ever seen. The half-phoenix was *delighted* that Keiki had spoken. His face fell a little in sympathy as Keiki described why he didn't like to speak, mostly when he got to the part about people hating him for his voice. That seemed silly to Niah... He had been right, too. He *did* like Keiki's voice. "A-actually..." Niah began, looking up at the other boy shyly, "I like hearing you talk..." The half-phoenix meant it, and it showed in his voice. He didn't think Keiki talked too much. Then again, Niah liked pretty much everything.
Any further response was cut off by a knock on the door, followed by a face popping in. Niah waved shyly at him. "Hello! We're dorm 5, if that's right?" the phoenix told him, smiling softly at the newcomer. Niah was glad that he'd showed up too! Now they could all get to know each other, and be great friends! At least, Niah hoped they would. It would be nice if that happened.

He looks at the paper, shrugs, crumples it up, and shoves it in his pocket. "Whoever wrote this thing should have been a doctor. But, hell with it, I'm here now. biggrin "
He comes in after a moment with his things. A duffel bag in one hand, a large rolling suitcase being dragged by the other, A guitar case strapped to the suitcase, and wearing a backpack. He carries all this stuff towards the unoccupied bed, but he doesn't seem very burdened.
"Name's Myles Million. I'd shake your hand now, but it'll have to wait until I either put this stuff down or grow another pair of arms." But as he's in the process of depositing the things next to the bed, he stops with a puzzled look on his face. Then he shrugs with a grin. "Okay, it'll take a while before I learn how to do that, so I'd better just put the stuff down. xd "

Keiki nodded to Myles. Wow, even more people, they do seem rather nice...maybe coming here wasn't such a bad idea...

Myles puts everything down, takes the guitar case off of the suitcase, and hefts the suitcase onto the bed to open it and dig for a towel and swim trunks.
"So, what happened to all the classes? Did Great C'tulhu rise and eat the teachers or something?"

Niah giggled a little, hiding his mouth with one hand. "I don't know, really... Maybe?" he replied, smiling at his new roommate. The phoenix took a moment to eye all of Myles' stuff, his eyes open slightly in surprise. "W-wow... You brought a lot of stuff!" Niah stated, walking over excitedly. "Do you play the guitar? Can I try?" he asked, looking over at Myles with an innocently joyful expression.
Niah loved to play the guitar, but had never been able to get one of his own. He'd just played his friend's... Well, until he moved here. That Myles played was great, even if Niah wasn't allowed to touch it! Guitar music would still be heard, and maybe Myles would let him sing along! It would be a lot of fun...

Myles looks down a little. "I'm still learning. I don't play when anybody's around. But if you play..." He puts the case on the bed and opens it, revealing an accoustic guitar. Not the most elaborate or expensive, but more than enough to play.
"Her name's Fiona, you can borrow her if you take care of her." And then he looks around at his bags and shrugs. "As for the stuff, it's not too much. It's gotten a lot easier to carry lately, though."

Keiki waved at the new roomate and plopped himself on to the bed. I'm sure Niah will explain everything, it looks like this guy is pretty strong...
