Echoes From the Past::.
Lyonesse is the daughter of a teacher whos husband from an arranged marriage treated her with incredible cruelty. Her mother was a quiet but proud creature that always did her best to teach only to the finest degree so that her students would be successful. Ula, her mother, had a great love for teaching others & seeing them grow into better people. Ula was always kind & compassionate, taking even the most hopeless of cases under her wing & making masters of them. Ula was a haven of advice & information to those that needed it most.
However, her father Fiacra was in no such way inclined & saw Ula's way of thinking as futile, putting her down & berating her with insults. Fiacra would lash out at Ula if she even thought of talking back & eventually drove the young woman into a state of emotional collapse. Ula was unable to teach any longer & remained a mute & silent creature for the rest of her life. She recoiled in fright at the sight of any male & would cry fitfully for hours on end, tears staining her face..until Fiacra beat her into a state of silence.
