Well, Kaoru said it was a collaboration of different languages (which has been assumed for many years) in his interview on Fuse's "Steven's Untitled Rock Show". What most people have come to the conclusion is: Dir is German for "You" (or Italian for "To say" but that doesn't make much sense), En is translated to "in" in a couple of languages (Spanish and French), and Grey is of course English for "Grey", thusly meaning "You in grey" (but that's just an assumption, Dir En Grey never stated what it really meant). arrow To the point! I would just say it with the appropriate accents. That would give "Dir" a *tiny* "r" roll, "en" would be said "aun", and "Grey" simply as is. But if you want to avoid sounding odd just pronounce it "Deer in Grey" like everyone else! blaugh

I'm lazy and never worrying about pronouncing ENGLISH correct half the time -- I say Dur
the en... en and in is the same thing to me, so I don't know how I say it. It's like 'm'... Is it "em" or "im"?..
Grey. Duh. Grey.
That's pronouncing the whole name.. which I don't do often. XD I'm lazy and I say Diru. Dee-roo.
The guys... say it "Dee-roo an goo-ray" (diru an gurei) And I've always just said however the band says it must be official..
But I have had my friend's sister try to tell me since the 'r's are more like 'l's, it's Dill en glay. *she has a poor understanding of Japanese pronunciation, eh?*

In Japanese we do pronounce "r"s with the "l" sound. Though to be more specific, it's kind of like "r", "l", and "d" had a baby.

It's not that hard of an 'l' sound. XP

Because if it's the latter, I'm a native speaker and, frankly, you'd be wrong.

It's pronounced as this - Deer An Grey -
Dir is German En is French Grey is English
So you pronounce them the way it is in that country.
All in all, it means Grey Coin.

No 'r', no 'd'. Just a really hard 'L'. I've come to this conclusion: No matter which way somebody says it, we KNOW what they're talking about, so why keep debating? *what I'd REALLY like to know is the correct way to pronounce Psycho le Cemu*

i guess you could always tak the easy way out and call them Diru smile .
