Japanese Lesson! rofl
"A" is pronounced like Ah. (like when you scream or something) "I" is pronounced like Ee. (like "feet") "U" is pronounced like Oo. (like "school") "E" is pronounced like the letter A. (like "apron") "O" is pronounced like Oh. (like "open")
So Kyo is Kyoh (not Keyo!!!) Daisuke has a whispered "U" so it's more like "Die-skay" (Or just Die) Toshiya is Toe-she-ya Kaoru is Cow-loo* Shinya is Sheen-ya
*And remember! The letter "R" in the Japanese language makes a slight "L" or "D" sound, so lightly tap the roof of your mouth when you say Kaoru's name.

Ah, that's not so difficult, except for Die's full name... whispered is still said.... so I wonder if you maybe mean the u is silent? confused Thank you smile

The u is nearly silent, and unless you know it's there, English-speaking peoples pretty much don't notice it at all. If 'die-skay' doesn't make sense... 'dies-kay' is pretty much the same sound. *but the first one is more correct-ish, I guess*
Haha.. yes, me and my friend were yelling at people earlier to day for pronouncing Kyo's name as two syllables. It's one syllable... like 'yo' with a 'k'. Not 'kee-yoh'. XDD

And I know what you mean with the Kyo thing. I badger my friends with it all the time.

I punched some prep once because -and she didn't even know who the band was; she saw his name written in a mag I was reading- She said I said it wrong (i say it like one syllable) and she said it like 'keeyow' (emphasis on the o) and after like an hour of fighting about it I just hit her and went back to my day. Don't mess wit teh Kyo.

Don't mess wit teh Kyo. It could have been worse. Some people in my class said it with an 'Ai' sound instead of that "ee" sound, so it was Kai-yo. After correcting them about it, they started called him "kee-yo" instead of just one syllable. But they don't have much knowledge with Japanese pronunciations, so you cant blame them too much. I think that girl you were talking about just wanted to argue, since she obviously didn't know what she was talking about. The punching was a bit unneccessary, but someone who has never heard of the band has no right arguing about something like that with a hard core fan.

Since I have a tendency to speak Japanese randomly in class, whenever I say their names, they think I'm telling them off or something. . . . And when I try to explain who Dir en grey is, they go, "Oh, your stupid Japanese bands. Go back to your creepy little world." Then I kick them. XD
