2 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (crisco works too but dries it out a bit)
1/3 cup buttermilk (milk, half and half or eggnogg)
1/2 cup pumpkin
1 tsp vanilla
Optianal: white chocolate chips (extreeeeemly good) or chopped pecans
mix flour, sugar, spices, baking powder & soda and salt into a large bowl. cut butter into mix. should look like crumbs. in seperate bowl mix milk, pumkin and vanilla, add to dry mix. stir until it pulls together then knead with your hands. transfer to lightly floured serface and knead about three or four more times. shape/pat into a circle and cut into wdges.
Bake on 375 for 20 min.
I found several recipies for P.S., squished them together and doubled all the spices, they are very popular at my school right now.
