In an obscure part of town, you come across a small quaint shop, which sort of reminds you of those old fashion magic shops. The place looked old but in good shape, the place made of a dark wood with stained glass windows. Above the door on a dark wooden plaque are the words 'Sanctuary of Souls', likely the name of the shop. As you open the door the shop and step inside, a little bell rings to signal your arrival in the shop.
Glancing around the shop, you see myriad bookshelves along the walls, on which are books, crystals, vials of various colored liquids, various shaped figurines, and many other things. In the center of the room are a few dark colored cushy looking couchs around a wooden coffee table. Scattered around the room are a few statues, chairs, and plants. At the back of the shop is a small walkway with two stair cases, one leading to the upper floors of the shop, and one leading down into the depths of the shop.
A woman with long slighty wavy black hair wearing black oriental style clothing with white designs on them and glasses walks towards you from one of the couchs which she had been sitting on. "Irashaimasen!" she said in greeting in a silky voice with a small bow and a smile. With a gesture around the shop she added, "Welcome to the Sanctuary of Souls, my name is Reina, I am the shopkeeper." she waved at the couch opposite to the one she had been siting on previously, "Please, have a seat." she said, sitting back in the place she had sat before.

Kiyu adjusted her grip on the shopping bag she held, and continued along the street. There were more shops in the area than there had been the last time she had visited, and a few of the old ones were gone. It was almost enough to make her want to come into town more often, but most of the time it wasn't worth the trip.
This time, it seemed, would be different.
The elf's window shopping ended abruptly when the windows turned from sheet after sheet of transparent plexiglass to an exquisite pane of stained glass, quite possibly antique. Pausing at the outside of that particular shop, Kiyu reached out a hand to stroke the glass. Perhaps this was a shop worth entering. Barely sparing a moment's glance at the sign above the door, she entered, smiling as a bell chimed to alert the owner.
It looked like an oddity shop, and a nice one at that. There were a couple of figures that caught Kiyu's eye, as well as a lovely vase. But before she could look around more, she spotted movement. A woman was approaching her, one dressed in lovely clothes that Kiyu couldn't help to admire.
"Thank you," she replied in her usual, soft-spoken voice, bowing while she continued. "I'm not sure why I came in here, really... I think I'm just browsing today?"

Reina smiled warmly at the elven woman, "I find that alot come in here and aren't sure why. I suppose the shop just has this way to draw people in." she said, her silky voice laced with amusement, before she gestured around the shop. "See anything you like?" she asked casually. Though her trade was primarily in souls, that didn't mean she didn't sell the other items of interest she picked up on occasion.
After a moment she gestured at the tea set on the coffee table, "Would you care for some tea?" she asked, tucking a lock of her long hair behind one of her pointed ears. The aroma wafting from the tea was a rather pleasent one.

"Actually, yes," Kiyu replied, gesturing at the vase that she had admired previously. "One of my companions likes flower arranging, and I thought that such a container would be a nice gift." Though really, there was so much in the shop that would make lovely gifts. Scanning the room again quickly, Kiyu made a few mental notes. If nothing else, she would have to visit again when birthdays or other holidays were closer.
The one thing that was confusing was that there seemed no common thread in the merchandise. It was a strange shop, and Kiyu couldn't help but want to know more. The offer of tea was a perfect opportunity. "Only if I won't be imposing," she murmured, taking a seat on the couch. "If I may ask... Reina-san, was it? What exactly do you sell here?"

"Oh yes, that one is a very nice vase which I picked up recently on one of my travels." Reina commented as she gazed at the vase. Actually, she often picked up many things in the many worlds that she went to. Often she might discover something just laying about that no one would likely miss, or she might find something nice in one of the shops of that world for a relatively cheap price that would be more valuable back home. It was a rather lucrative side business that drew more people into her shop. "Got it relatively cheap from the artisan who made it."
She smiled warmly, "You won't be imposing. I don't get that many customers, so its always nice to have tea with those that visit." she said as she elegantly poured tea from the pot into one of the cups and offered it and it's saucer to her after putting the tea pot back on it's own saucer. A gleam shone in her eyes for a moment when she was inquired of what she sold there. "I sell souls." she stated in a voice that suggested that that was a perfectly normal thing to sell.

Ah, a traveler. For a fleeting moment Kiyu envied the shopkeeper. It would be nice to travel, seeing new lands and meeting people. As one tied to her house, Kiyu didn't have that luxury, but she was rewarded in other ways, so it all evened out. There were those who could travel, and those who could listen to the stories of the travelers, and the best occasions were when one of each could meet and talk.
"In that case, Reina-san, I would be happy to join you." Taking the cup and saucer that she was offered, Kiyu inhaled the steam before taking a sip. It was a sort of tea she hadn't tasted before, but delicious nonetheless, and Kiyu was so taken in by the flavor that she almost missed Reina's next comment. When it was finally processed by her brain, however, she opened her eyes wide.
That wasn't possible, was it? But what reason would the woman have to lie? Kiyu debated for a moment before speaking next. "I see. How... unusual. How, may I ask, does that business work for you?"

Reina smiled as she watched Kiyu enjoying the tea. It was always good when people like the tea one makes. Of course since shes had alot of practice making tea, it was probably bound to be pretty good. She herself thought it was good, but maybe she just really liked tea. As she stared into her tea, she vaguely wondered weither it was the fragrance of the tea she made that drew people to her shop. Hmm, hard to say, though people rarely turned her down when she asked if they would like some tea.
"Hmm, yes, I suppose it is a bit unusal." she said with a chuckle, before taking a sip of tea, "It works okay. Don't get alot of customers, though that might be because I don't advertise or anything." Why advertise, when people just seem to be drawn into your shop? Also advertising might attract unwanted attention, which is never good. "I always find it interesting the kind of people who come in and the souls they leave with." she stated, before gazing at Kiyu, "Might you be interested in a soul?" she inquired as if she only just thought to ask.

"It's a shame that business is slow," Kiyu commented, stalling so she could think of a real reply. "But it must be nice to be able to talk to your customers. That sort of shop was always more interesting to me." Some called her old-fashioned, but a shop where the people knew each other and could hold a conversation had a definite charm, and she preferred to shop where she knew the storekeeper's name.
But the thought of selling a soul, or being sold one, was a bewildering prospect. At Reina's question, Kiyu quickly took another sip of tea and thought. "I... what exactly does that mean? I'm quite new to this."

Reina lifted her shoulders in a slight shrug, "Well, it being slow isn't such a bad thing. I'm not sure I could keep up with supply and demand if the shop got alot of business." she commented, "It is indeed nice to be able to talk to my customers in a more intimate way than customers streaming through and the only conversation being them asking to buy something and I telling the price." she with amusement and mimed ringing things up at a register in a monotonus way. Actually there was another reason why she liked to talk with her customers, and that was that it gave her more of an idea on what soul they'd like or that might suit them.
"Well... It means, would you like to perchase a soul?" she said matter of factly before taking a sip of tea and smiling, "Would you be interested in taking charge of a soul? A life that has been ended too soon and needs guidance." Well, actually some of them didn't end soon enough, and quite a few would argue about the needing guidance. But they weren't around to dispute that, now were they?

Ah, guidance. Something Kiyu was all too familiar with. It seemed that everyone around her needed guidance, and while she was pleased to give whatever she could, it felt like more than a coincidence. And perhaps it was more than a coincidence that she had ended up at the strange shop. Kiyu wasn't usually one to believe in fate, but there were times when things seemed to be guided by forces beyond her.
And of course, the word "soul" made things all the more interesting.
"I might," she finally said, taking another sip of tea. "What exactly does one cost? And what would be required of me?

Reina rattled off the price, it wasn't a huge amount, but it wasn't what one would call cheap either. But considering that it was for a soul, it seemed like a reasonable price. "You would be required to take care of the soul, give it a home, feed it, make sure it doesn't get into any trouble." she said the last with a smile that said that she knew of alot of souls that would probably get into alot of trouble if not looked after. Of course not all were like that, each one was different, but she'd still seen quite a few troublemakers.
After a thought she stood up and smiled at Kiyu, "Ya know, I think I have a soul you might like. You may decide if you want him after you meet him." she said and strode towards the walkway in the back and turned to walk up the stairs.
When a few minutes had passed two pairs of footsteps could be heard descending the stairs. Out from the hallway walked Reina leading a man dressed completely in white, his long sleeveless white shirt open to reveal his torso. He had a rather long necklace loosely wound multiple time around his neck, and an also rather long ribbon wrapped around his wrists. His long white hair looked like the tips had been dipped in chocolate. His eyes were closed as he was lead over to the couch and sat down on it. She waved her hand slightly over the side of his head, "His name is Caerwyn." As she said so, the ribbon and necklace shined slightly. His eyes fluttered slightly before opening.
(You may take over for Caerwyn now if you'd like. ^^ If there's any typos it's cause I wrote it at 3am.. >.>; )

Just like that? Kiyu had only meant to ask for more information, but the shopkeeper took that as an agreement. Startled, the elf opened her mouth to protest- then stopped, and shut it again. Maybe this wasn't such a bad thing. She certainly had enough room, and her mistress had said more than once that more people were welcome. "The more, the merrier," she could remember hearing.
So while she was nervous, Kiyu sat and waited, finally looking up when Reina returned. She was not alone. A young man was with her, clad in white from head to toe, and even his hair, except the ends that were a crimson brown. Caerwyn? "What a lovely name," Kiyu breathed.
The first thing that Caerwyn sensed was not a person, but a voice. A hint of a smile appeared, and he bowed deeply. "I am at your service."
What was that supposed to mean, Kiyu wondered. Wasn't she supposed to be of service? Bewildered, she looked at Reina. "What... what happens now?"

Reina gave a soft chuckle at Caerwyn's words before smiling at Kiyu, "Well, for starters, you must decide if you wish to have him." she said with a gesture at him, before she laid out a piece of paper and a decorated pen, that you were sure that she hadn't been holding before, on the coffee table infront of Kiyu. "This is the contract for him. If you'd like him, then just sign the contract." she said before she retrieved her saucer and cup of tea from where she had placed it on the table and gingerly sipped the tea.
