Crammed in-between a butcher's and a jewelry shoppe is a small, eerily thin little building. Its doors are only open a few sporadic days each month, and no one knows the next time it will open. It has no title or sign to say what it is, the only thing that gives away the sort of nature of this shop are the large stained-glass windows that stand on either side of the humble, navy door.

Quiet all hours of the sunlight, but at night neighbors swear that they hear the sound of slicing, chopping, chiselling, sawing, and sometimes sobs or triumphant laughter.

What glitters behind glassed windows?

The music started playing almost to the beat of the sun's final rays disappearing behind Sticks' horizon. It sounded like a needle grating across a tin sheet, leaving its imprint forever.

Actually it was merely a phonograph, but you must forgive me for sounding overly poetic at times.

The lone sink inside the loft was suddenly turned on, and the once clear water became streaked with red as a pair of long, bony hands slowly ran over each other and became a luminescent white. Taking a ratty towel that laid beside the sink, the hands' owner gently, almost lethargically dried off. Then, with a heave, she tossed an abnormally large meat cleaver into the sink. As the water was still running, red water splattered onto the figure's face and apron. Again, almost lethargically, the ratty cloth was used to wipe off its owner's face. Then the sink was shut off by a delicate twist of the hand, and the red-streaked apron crumpled to the floor. Underneath it was a silk suit with a white cravat, one that was so fine that it would've practically dissolved if the red water had leaped onto it. With a slap, the ratty cloth was again by the sink. As the red water drained from the sink, the figure started to retreat into another room, this one bolted shut.

"I had better eat dinner before I continue my project," mused Aster.
