ok so in College Prep class we're writing our application essays. and the topic is 'When was a time you had a major life opporunity or a major life set back?' and I thought of a major life set back, but I don't want to write about that since it's HIGHLY personal and I don't want anyone to read about it. So now I don't know if I should just go and do the idea I had (which I typed out and it's like only 2 paragraphs and it has to be a full page rolleyes ) or should I just go find my old teacher (she got a job offer for counceler or something like that) and ask her if I can skip the assignment b/c it's too personal to write about?

Don't write something you don't want other people reading.
Instead, I'd suggest trying to think of an alternate setback that you wouldn't mind sharing.
That is, if you haven't resolved it already.

I don't think your teacher will excuse you from that for that reason. She would probably tell you what Mooby said.

I do not know what you could write about. I will give you a pointer though! Do NOT use contractions for example;
don't
haven't
etc.

This is probabally going to sound bad, but I'll give it a go anyway. How would your teacher know if it actually happened or not? I know that when I get an assignment that I have to write about something personal, I usually just make the whole thing up. You probabally shouldn't try and get excused from the assignment because it is too personal. Good luck with it though!
