Mearly great and just about rewatch able . OF the trilogy {at least I hope its the trilogy not just the original ) MM3:Beyond Thunder dome is by far the best.
Now given what fickle thing sequels are its hard for any sequel to surpass its originals it did manage to pull Tina Turner to its accreditation as Bartertown's Auntie.
How ever when the move gets parodied in the "California" music video,referenced in WOW,Buffy and south park, I think its popular and well watched enough to be known in common memory.

I'd say that the movies definitely get better as they go on. The first one is kinda...well, it's not bad, but it has things in it that make it kinda hard to watch with people. (Man-rape, for example.)
I wouldn't go so far as to say that Beyond Thunderdome is better than The Road Warrior, but they're appealing for different reasons. Like, Road Warrior has a better chase scene, but "Bartertown" is a better glimpse into post Pox-Eklips living.
