that depends, is it a drow drow, or a surface Eilistraee worshiping drow if she worships Eilistraee, the other elf might have some misgivings but it would be workable a Lolth worshiping drow however... (expesally a female one gonk )

Rogue Specter's right - Tell us a bit more about your character, so we can help you out.
Her alignment is pretty important, too. If she's Neutral in any way or Good, then she will probably know how to appeal to a surface elf.

well she is short of a drow and has not gone to loth's school. she never really hated loth but was also not overy fond of her. she likes thing from the surface world (she has a white dress from there with flower stiched in, a circlet with a star in the middle, and a drawing of a tree) but for the most part she just think her place is in her house. she ends up falling in love with a male from the house in front of them. how ever her house ends up atacking his house and because he is a noble he kills him self in order to let her live. after that she renose rejects loth and her family. then she move to the surface and finds out that every one hates her. then she hears about 8 necormances that are causing havic and chaos. so she believe if she kills them people will like her. and that is how she meets the elf (who is also out to get the necomancers)

Question: What class is the Drow? If she were to be a Cleric from the underground then it's very unlikely that she'd not be a spider hugger. A fighter could probably manage to ignore all the spider worship, or at least create a facade, but in the school of fighters they kind of get brainwashed into believing that surface elves need eradicating...
Don't take this the wrong way but I believe personally that a story about a former underdark dwelling female Drow will be hard to write believably. They have higher stations in life, and as such would tend to argue with their teachings far less, than the males and if one of them disappeared their family would be much more likely (more likely I emphasize, not definitely) look for them.
If this idea of yours is set in stone though I'd suggest that she be born upon the surface world, write her in as a follower of Elistraee. Any Cleric not completely following her god wouldn't exactly receive magical intervention, any fighter that had gone to a school for such (and it's not just nobles as far as I can remember) would be turned into a faerie hating killer... it's possible to write the story but the Drow would be always looking for ways to kill the Elf in either scenario as soon as it had outlived its usefulness.

I see your pionts
however when I decided to make her a wavering drow I got the idea from a drizzt book. the third house in menzobarrenzan where not that religious and they had another power source.
she is a fighter but has not gone to any schools. she leaves before she can go. her mother had some other thing to teach her before she went.
and true I do believe that the elf and my drow will never get along. I think I can write it as my drow is just using her untill she is of no more use.
the Idea it that after a while she is subpost to learn to trust others.
the main charactor is a human that a demon played a trick on and now he has to kill the necormancers. he finds either the elf or me and who ever is left is found later.
thank for your help I keep what you said in mind as I write.

That enchanted item you are talking about could even be the magickal mask that Drizzt and Wulfgar took from a banshee while going to Calimport to rescue Regis from the assassin Artemis Entrerie.
