Can't make it stop...
Dang.. no one's posted here for a while..
Is anyone else involved in Belegarth here? I have been for about five months, and it's a lot of fun. Not as complicating as Dagorhir (in my opinion), but still lots of fun!
If you are involved, what's your fighting name and realm?
I'm Losivvt of Dun Abhon. ...keep ******** it up.

Belegarth and Dagorhir started as the same group. However, there's a lot of arguing and bad blood between the groups, to the point where you can be banned if you even half mention belegarth on their board.
I, though, think that is pretty stupid, and once all of the older members retire, and we're left with nothing but the younglings who have no idea why the two split, I think they will join together again.

I know most of the mods on the Dagorhir boards. You can not be banned for mentioning Belegarth. You can be banned for trolling and saying that Bele is better than Dag.
I, personally know why the split happened. I think it was a logical split gone nuts because of communication issues. All the same, I think anyone who adds to the Bele-Dag split drama is wrong. Hell, some of my best friends play both games.

Breathing the earth..
People from the belegarth boards have been banned for simply trying to get a group of people together to fight. Nothing more, nothing less. Belegarth was never mentioned, and yet as soon as someone found out they were from Belegarth, they were banned.

sweatdrop yeah, they are kinda touchy after the whole schism happened and they are maintaining that belegarths founder was in the wrong. Anyways, wrong doings aside, I was from the same group as Witesh, it was still Barad-Dur when I was there. Currently, I am running my own group down in Colorado Springs, called Cimmeria. The name Kurai, if anyone is interested in coming down to fight or knows anyone in that area that want to fight, kindly let me know.

There is a reason for that. I'm part of dagorhir, but I'm also part of another LARP. I can not advertise practices for it on the Dagorhir boards. I actually tried it once and got yelled at (lectured by many of the leaders of Dagorhir in person. If you've never seen an angry Dominus...you're lucky). The reason behind it is that it is a board about Dagorhir. It is not about other groups. If this were done on Gaia, people would flame how the post was in the wrong section. I understand this logic. It didn't have to do with the fact the group was Belegarth. It had to do with the fact that it was another group, period, or at least...thats how the moderaters say it. I'll admit that Dominus handled the situation poorly, but then he has quite a temper. Mostly it was a breaking down of contact and a failier to communicate on BOTH parties. Thats the problem with talking via the internet. There's more time to just to conclusions.
I actually would like to hear about the Belegarth split from one of the members of Belegarth who were personally involved. I know that there are two sides to every story, and maintain an open mind. ALWAYS
I refuse to have flaming of either Dagorhir or Belegarth on my boards. If I see any flaming of ANY group, banning will happen. If you think SCA is the best, thats fine, but don't belittle other groups beacuse of it. No one has yet, but please...no name-calling or generally being mean to other groups for the sake of being mean (This goes for ALL groups). If that happens there will be 2 warnings and then a ban.

Breathing the earth..
I think both groups have their good and bad things. I know I'm going to be trrying to attend Ragnarok, even though I am an active Belegarth player. I really would like to see some of the bad blood between the two groups settle a bit. ... and wandering the plains.

I would love to see the bad blood end too. It's tragic how some people dismiss members of another group as inferior. Thats why we must maintain that thick cohesion and a unique since of unity with other boffer sports, LARPs and Reenactors.
One of these days I'll have the money to try every Larp/Boffer/ Reenactment style under the sun! Mwhahahahahahahaha!

The only Dagorhirian(s) I have a problem with are Dominus and those that sneer at the mere mention of Belegarth. Yes, Kegg and the others made some bad choices and were not as nice as they could have been but that has been years ago now and they should bloody give it a rest. Acting like a bunch of snivelling children is unacceptable in my eyes.

I used to play every weekend, but my unit hates me now. They've invited me to come back, but I'm afraid that they'll beat the s**t out of me if I do. 6 or so college kids against my scrawny 16 year old self doesn't favor me.

Where do you live? http://www.belegarth.com has a lsit of realms, and there's quite a few of them.
Plus, if you're that interested, you could always get to know the rules really well, and then start your own realm. ^^ ...the Devil tips his hat to me.
