I like musical games but it seems a lot of people don't play too many of them. So what games have you played? Which do you like?

I've played Parappa, Parappa2, Um Jammer Lammy.
Bust a groove 1 and 2.
Drummania
Guitar Freaks
DDR/Stepmania
In the Groove
Beatmania
Dance Maniax
Pop'n music

I've gotten fairly good at DDR at one point but then my arcade took out the machine and replaced with In the Groove which I hate and refused to play for very long. We now have DDR supernova but the spark is gone.

I'm an avid fan of Drummania and I'm actually getting pretty good at it despite the learning curve. I'm also pretty good at Dance Maniax and Pop'n music but those are easy games to learn.

What about the rest of you?

Oh, I'm a total rhythm game freak. I love DDR a LOT, and Um Jammer Lammy rocks outloud too. I palyed Drum Mania...once...and lost...horribbly... (insert elipses) Stepmania is a godsend (for my friends with good computers), and Guitar Hero is just plain fun.

Oh yeah, forgot about guitar hero. My girlfriend and I play it sometimes. I'm not very good but I'm not very good at any video games. She's better than me at nearly every game we play together but I don't mind.

I was recently able to play Pop'n Music in an arcade. That's a great game. It's got over 500 songs! Why can't DDR manage that?!

Cause Konami doesn't actually own most of the songs for DDR? A lot of them are are from dancemania which often they can't get ahold of older songs again unfortunately. I think DDR may be a bit older than the mix you played too.

Oh my gawd, I'm a hoar for music sims.

I loved the Parappas, Lammy, Frequency, Guitar Hero, Amplitude, Bust-a-Grooves, Taiko Drum Master, Beat Mania and pretty much everything else.

I don't know why they're so addictive, but man..

I think the question is, what haven't I played?

Games I own:
-Bust A Groove 1
-Bust A Groove 2
-Guitar Hero 1 and 2
-Um Jammer Lammy
-Parappa the Rapper 2
-DDR USA, Konamix, Max, Max 2, Extreme, Extreme 2, and SuperNOVA
-In the Groove

Games I've played
-DDR
-Beatmania
-Para Para Paradise
-Dance Maniax 1st and 2nd J Paradise
-Keyboard Mania 3rd Mix
-Pop'n Music
-Drummania
-Guitar Freaks
-Frequency
-Parappa the Rapper #1 (wish I owned it)
-In The Groove 1 and 2

Overall, I'd say my favorites are Drummania, Pop'n Music, and Dance Maniax. I'd personally love to play the arcade version of Um Jammer Lammy, but it was last in circulation in 1999, so I'd say that's a no-go.

Call me crazy, but my goal for Drummania is to be able to do Centaur without auto bass/cymbal/hi hat =D

I loooove music games.

I've played:

Amplitude
Guitar Hero I & II
DJ Max Portable
DDR Extreme 2
Bust A Groove 2

Right now I'm trying to acquire a dance pad for DDRX2, and get GHII for my 360. Until then, I'll be playing DDRX2 on Standard/Heavy with just the controller. Very very tricky, especially with my utter lack of coordination. Although, playing single-controller Double is rather easy for me.

You'll like Supernova, has some good songs. Extreme 1 had Move your feet which is an awesome song.

I'm really awful at DDR and it bothers me. I suppose if I practiced I could be good at it, but I don't like it enough to do so.

I'm currently tackling Guitar Hero on expert, and I'll probably buy GH2 this weekend or so.

I looove Um Jammer Lammy!

I played that game so much when I was little... I know all the songs and such off by heart. 3nodding

I hated the hell level though... I swear there was something wrong with the timing on it, even when I play it now, I keep failing... and it's only hard the first time you play the game, after you've 'unlocked' the ability to get Cool, or play it as parappa, it's easier!

The last level, whilst my favourite song (apart from the credits song), was also annoyingly timed too... it just kinda felt like no matter how well you played, 50% of the time you'd drop to bad, the other 50% you'd go back up to good again...

I agree. In fact, I'd go as far as to say the only one with real timing was the plane level. At the same time, it also had the best song.

Believe me when I say that no one was as bad at DDR as me. When I started playing (you can ask my mom...) I was actually falling off of the pad. Yes, that's right. However, after practicing for a few years, I can now play on heavy, and make it look..well...it's ddr. Kinda hard to make that look good. Only thing now is that I'm out of shape, so when I play, I usually pas out in the middle of a song lol.

Come on, people! Space Channel 5, anyone?! And what about Mad Maestro?

I LOVE rhythm action games. They're my third favorite genre, next to RPGs and survival horror. I've played these (an asterisk indicates I own it):

Bust A Groove 1
Bust A Groove 2*
Parappa the Rapper
UmJammer Lammy*
Space Channel 5*
Space Channel 5 2*
Guitar Hero
Mad Maestro*
DDR Konamix
DDR MAX*
DDR MAX2*
DDR Extreme
DDR Extreme 2

There's one I've always wanted to play called "Rez". Anyone know anything about it?

I suuuuuuck at Guitar Hero. It's the only game I've actually sucked outright at. xp

Rhythm games bug the crap out of me. Not to say that there's anything wrong with enjoying them, I'm just white, that's all.
