Background:

There was an age when people lived in sync with nature. An age when men and women alike strived for peace; to never seperate themselves from the mystical powers that the world had to offer them. And how these people lived in harmony with nature was through the elements. And these elements were air, earth, water, fire and thunder. Not all knew each element, however. Instead, each seperate village that was created, was based around a certain element and all those that had the ability to control it lived there. Of course, the people believed that it was something that was inherited, not something one could teach. So, those living in a certain village, knew nothing of the other elements and just of their own (for everything in that village's culture revolved around it). However, they respected them, for it was all part of nature. Once a year, these different villages came together in a spot which lay in the center of the land (an area which every village circled) and held a huge celebration in the name of nature, showing off their abilities in a display of great power.

However, times began to change. In lands far off from where the elemental tribes resided, men soon turned away from nature and began to study industry. Those who studied this strange phenomenon, became greedy and began to travel the lands to practice something called Imperialism. And over time, some made it to the land where these people who worked with nature lived. When they arrived, the elementals welcomed them with open arms (for peace was the grounds from which their culture was based). Unfortunately, the men of industry did not share this view and immediately took over the tribes and made them slaves to operate their machines.

As the men and women slaved away over the years, their knowledge of the elements began to fade. However, one began to take shape, mostly in the minds of adolescents. It was an element that was based off of hatred and despair: darkness. In anger, ones that could wield this power immediately turned on their masters and used their knowledge of what they knew (just from instinct) on them. In time, everything that had changed the people were destroyed. However, now a new problem had taken root: the ones that had learned this element of darkness (which was taught to them naturally; that had been cast upon them by their oppressors) were overwelmed with it and soon began to use their powers just as the men of industry had.

A new age had now begun to unfold; an age which would last for over a century, when men and women lived under the tyrannical power of darkness. In these dark times, the people lived in fear and were torn from nature (just as their predesesors had done), however, there were few who had begun to study an idea which was in fact, based around how the dark element was formed. Their philosophy was, if the element of darkness could have been formed naturally through hate, then there had to be one that could be created through love and hope. And soon, through the century which these people suffered, those that had studied this philosophy soon gained control of it. The people that had studied it were three people who were soon called the White Mages.

These White Mages, who had also learned that the elements could be taught and not just transfered through inheritance, began to re-teach those who were suppressed under cover. And soon, they started a revolution which was lead by the three White Mages. And after a decade, they were able to cast them out. Amist the destruction, the elementalists found a survivor, a child of only eight, who had lived among the dark elementalists and took him in, since he was only a boy. This boy was named Ryoto...

The White Mages, fearing another uprising of darkness, believed that it would be best that they open a school, where all could be educated of every element; to work together, instead of living seperately. The curriculum was one that would take seven years. And after six years (where the student had mastered the elements), the last yera would be based around the knowledge of the light element to cast away the darkness.

As the school grew, so did Ryoto. When he reached the age of 21, Ryoto wanted to teach the dark element, but only to expose the students to its horrors and show them how it worked so that they would be able to defeat it if it ever took shape again. At first, The White Mages (who were the principles of the school) were against it. However, over time, they finally gave in....

Description:

Bio: Ryoto was found in the remains of the Revolution which was led by the White Mages against the Dark Elementalists. A child of only eight, The White Mages believed that he was much too young to be completely overcome by the darkness and took them under their wing. When the school was built and opened, Ryoto joined for his first year when he was 14. He was uncommonly gifted in most of the elements, however, he was also quite strong in the master of darkness, which scared many of the children. Because of this, Ryoto had little to no friends; the only friends he truly had were the White Mages, who continued to watch over him.

Everything was going fine until his final year when he had to learn the Light Element. Even though he was learning how to create and wield its power, he could just not execute it. And, during the final test where he would have to call upon it, he went insane, destroying much of the school. Because of this, Ryoto was unable to graduate. Luckily, the school was easily repaired. And during that time, Ryoto spent his time alone for a year. When he turned 21, Ryoto returned, asking the White Mages the chance to teach students the powers of the Dark Arts so that they would be able to fight against it if it ever rose again. Also, since the school was based upon the supression of the dark element, it would be wise, according to Ryoto, for them to learn what they were in fact trying to stop.

With much effort, Ryoto soon was given the job. Now, Ryoto teaches all of the students that come to the elemental school on their second year onward and on their final year they must go through a test... however, something strange has been happening during those tests...

Bio: She dresses in her family's traditional robes, easily showing she's from the Beowulf clan. Her clan is mostly known for the fire-type beasts they can create and turn to. Though, the main animals were bears and wolves, she changed that by choosing a fox.

She's been able to manage her classes, with a bit of trouble. She originally had no control over her abilities, but with help from the school, she had been able to control fire. Though, she didn't have many friends, others easily thinking she still had no control. She's turned to the teachers for guidance, her only real friends.

Paradox's Transition: A Spell available to both Kaji, and Aisu, It allows for them to switch who is in control if the situation demands the others attention and the other one agrees (note the one who is being called upon must agree to take over), Also in case of Dire situations they may both be awake at the same time in the body...
Flames of Rath (Kaji): By Concentrating Energy/heat into the palm of his hand to the point that it is smallerer then the tip of a pencil and then releasing it all at once, Kaji creates a small vacuum that pulls his opponent closer by the release of the immense tempetures that is then followed swiftly by the flames.
Shiva's Embrace (Aisu): Focusing upon any amount of water, whether it be from an actual water source or from the very moisture in the air, Aisu creates either an ice/water scultpure that he controls through his element of Water...The most known Form to appear is that of a dragon like serpent.
Description: Wears the standard student clothing along with a light coat and a headband that is low covering his eyes partly. Has Black hair that has a tint of red to it, which hangs down into a ponytail. They're eyes, are the only thing that changes, When Kaji is in charge they are a dark Amber, When Aisu is in control, An Icy Blue.
Bio: A.K. is from a small unremarkable family, they sent Him(s) to the school when they noticed that (when Kaji was in control) that he had some skills with the fire element. During that entire year first year, Aisu never once truely showed himself. Everyone discounted the eye change, after all many peoples eyes can change color to a degree when they're angry.

During the Second year the School staff learned about Aisu, when during one of the exams, after Kaji passed it, Aisu took control and procceeded to pass it as well. Needless to say the Staff was preplexed at what had happened, after all to them it looked like a 2nd year student had just finished his exam with his natural element, and passed it. Then he procceeded to use another element which only 5th year students started to learn to use, yet the worst part about it was that it was his opposite element that was used. They of course procceeded to investigate the matter only to be told by A.K. (they believed to have been Aisu but to this day its unconfirmed), about they're paradox'd existance of split personalitys each with a different element attatched to it.
When they learned this the teacher who had preformed the exam and done the follow-up, quickly informed his betters. They agreed to give extra attention to this student so that both sides of him may master they're given element.

During the end of the 3rd year, a 5th year student demanded to know to Kaji at the time why was he getting such special attention. Kaji told him straight out that it was none of his bussiness what was happening. That 5th year student started a fight, That fight revealed to the rest of the school about Kaji/Aisu's condition...Sadly that 5th year student ended up in the infirmary where he was repimended along with Kaji for going on with the fight. In that student's defense, he was unprepared for dueling against 2 distinctly different elements.
Nothing remarkable happene during the 4th year except that people stayed well away from A.K, after all in some people's opinion he was a paradox and completly unstable because of it.

Asphail awoke to the sound of rain pelting on his window. Groaning, the elementalist slowly opened his eyes to notice that he was in complete darkness. Was it still night? If it was, he was no longer tired. Stummbling out of bed (trying to be as quiet as he could so as to not wake his room mate), Asphail slowly made his way to the window and pressed his face up against the glass to see if there was any light at all. Much to his distaste, there was none. Despite the clouds that undoubtedly filled the skies, it was quite clear that it was still around midnight.

Shivering from the cold, the wind child turned from the window and grabbed, (after much difficulty), his robe. Instead of staying here in the dark, he was going to find out to see if someone else was a wake. Even though he was quiet by nature and had no friends, he still did not mind watching others talk amongst themselves; it was the closest he would ever get.

Sighing, the boy put on his robe and slipped into the hallway...

The boy roamed the hallways, stumbling in the darkness, guided only by the walls. From what he could depict from what the air around him, he believed that it was somewhere around two in the morning. But then why was he so wide awake? It was almost as if it was in the afternoon. Of course, it could be due to the fact that the first day of classes began on this very day. But there was no real way of knowing; Asphail did not know enough of himself to understand why he felt a certain way about something.

Just when the elementalist had given up all hope that there would be any light to guide him, Asphail spotted a weak light coming from what he believed to be the library. Surprised, the boy slowly tip-toed towards the large double doors which led into the room and peered in. Inside was a girl studying (or so he believed, for her head was buried in a book) and the light, which had so captivated him, were created by herself in the form of small balls of fire.

Although most people would be sleeping, Shock thought he should practice. For he knew how strict the magis are. He was in the training hall which is off limits at night but Shock didn't care. The giant circular room was made of sound proof walls and with only one exit. So he thought no one would mind.

Shock placed his legs apart, as though he had a stead. Then placing is hands together, pushed down the pinky and ring finger. Now he only had the middle finger, index finger and thumbs all facing up. (The shape made looks like a little kid’s gun thing) Splitting his hands up and while keeping the same position but having the right hand in front of him and the left by his side. This was the basic position for thunder elementals. If your fingers aren't correct the thunder might backfire onto you. This has once happened to Shock and he was hospitalized. Never has it happened to him since that day when he was 15.
