That's right, Street Fighter's rivals. I strongly believe they deserve a spot in a pop culture guild. While recent additions may not be the bestin the world, at one point, the ywere eating just as many quarters at Street fighter was. I like this series better ( and this is coming from the most hardcore Capcom junkie around), and the reason being is the characters had 1: Personality. They weren't just generic stereootypes from varius countries. 2: A wider variety of attacks. In Street Fighter, more or less, the special attacks were projectile, spinny move, uppercut, obligitory body hurling attack, and... *crickets* that's it. KoF offered a WIDE variet yof attacks, not to mention it ws the first series to do the team aspect, and early versions (not sure if later versions did or didn't) actually had team dynamics (This character wouldn't do well because he hates that character, that character loves that other caracter, etc.) It really added some depth to it.

Omnileech Is there a system it's for? I've aways wanted to play that series of games. There's no specific system te whole series is for, but they've been released on Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Neo Geo, Neo Geo Pocket, Playstation, PS2, X-Box, and a couple of others (SNES, maybe?) Oh, and my favorite character varies from game to game, but it's usually King, Rock (Despite the horrible delay in his specials), or Athena. I've never really tried Blue Mary. How does she play? I tried her once, but she seemed slow, and sluggish.

Omnileech Is there a system it's for? I've aways wanted to play that series of games. Check out KoF 2002/2003 for PS2. It has a crap ton of characters in it, they both are some of the best of the series (still lovely 2D), and the designs of the characters got a bit of an overhaul then. I loooove Kyo (especially post KoF99). heart for srsly, best 2D fighter series (outside of GG).

I need some 2D fighting action. I might have to take your advice. My copy of Capcom vs SNK 2000 can't take any more 'love'. I've played that game into submission.

Ark the Pie King I've never really tried Blue Mary. How does she play? I tried her once, but she seemed slow, and sluggish. She feels heavier than Terry, believe it or not. The strategy varies a bit by year, but she's uber-defensive as she has shiteloads of counters and prioritized attacks (her jump+D and close+C is uber).

Kenji_Salk I loooove Kyo (especially post KoF99). heart Because he FINALLY graduated? xd Kyo can be super-deadly in any situation and can dominate the fight, just like Yagami. I've seen so many crazy combos with those two it's not funny... Like: Cross-up+d.C (from corner), d.B, d.C, qcf.D.D, *Call Striker: Clark*, qcf.D.D, qcb.hcf.C That's in KoF'99. gonk

being a big fat fighting game nerd I have always loved KoF intensely. as 2D fighters go, it's my favorite (second to Guilty Gear, of course ^^).
favorite characters: Vanessa, Jhun Hoon, Angel, Whip, Ash, Kim Kaphwan, Duo Lon, King, Heidern, and K'.
side trivia: on me and Kenji's first 'date' I wore an SNK shirt. xp

That's quite the repitoire. Geez, I always thought I was pretty good, but judging by everyone's responses, I think I just amy get me arse handed to me in a fight. Ah well. Gotta get better sometime. We should figure a way to play over the net. I'd kill (no pun intended) to test my luck against all of you.

I'd play if I could. I'd lose but I'd play. Only fighting games I can beat people in are Guilty Gear sometimes and Super Smash melee.

Isuka sucks big time. Get X2 as it's the best the series has to offer. I'm really good at Smash Melee but my brother is better just because he broke the game down to the point where it's not fun anymore. He does the same moves over and over again and the same combos which makes fighting him boring. I prefer to just go on the fly and have fun with it rather than learn the most damaging combination of moves to rinse and repeat until victory. Best characters are young link, jigglypuff and Ganondorf.
