This thread is for that discussion about Vic we were haveing in the 'I slap joo' thread. So basically what this discussion was about Vic being a hyprocrite about the whole Fai and Kurogane thing. Remember at a panel what he said about yaoi and yuri is perversion of the original author's creation. And compared it to flinging mud on a beautiful painting. Then he goes saying that Fai is straight when there's already evidence Fai isn't. And earlier in the A/M/C there was an awesome discussion, concerning this. And someone there did say Vic denied a their friend an autograph b/c she was wearing a shirt that said I heart yaoi. Youtube links where he discusses this. For those who haven't seen it. .it’s a dangerous game. ]I would like to add that Kurogane and Fai are the most canonly gay couple CLAMP's spat out since X. Even Doumeki and Watanuki have no contest over the two TRC boys and anyone who says otherwise clearly knows nothing of CLAMP. Now, they may not like KuroFai (which always confused me how you can be anti-yaoi and like CLAMP when love is love no matter what is always one recurring theme in all their manga) but it's certainly there and to deny it is futile. That includes you, Vic. Go research some CLAMP manga now before making comments about it lest you have a horde of angry fans out for your skin. And believe me, CLAMP fans when in rage make charging rhinos appear tame.

I can't listen to that much Wagner.. To me, he seems too nice to be that much of a hypocrite. After all, wasn't he the one who gets the kick out of saying "Roy Mustang is dead sexy in a miniskirt?"
Even though it doesn't really bother me either way, it kinda dissapoints me that he's freaking out over the whole Fai thing so much. Like you said, he should just chill out and have fun doing the voice.
And if the creator has any REAL problems with yaoi or yuri, they can just put up a copyright thing, like Anne Rice does. Vic can't really speak for ALL the creators when he disses yaoi and yuri. The author of Gravitation even wrote her OWN yaoi doujinshi for her own series.
Great job on making an intelligent thread, Axel. 4laugh I can feel my brain tingling.

Scottscoon I can't listen to that much Wagner.. To me, he seems too nice to be that much of a hypocrite. After all, wasn't he the one who gets the kick out of saying "Roy Mustang is dead sexy in a miniskirt?"

He's said himself that he highly regrets doing it and that it makes him feel uncomfortable to say but he figures it's better to just say it and get it over with than to have all those fans staring at him complain.

.it’s a dangerous game. ]In his opinion. :/ Just because that's the way he percieves their relationship doesn't mean everyone else has to. That's one of the things that bugs me about him. In the videos I've seen of him talking about how he percieves the Roy and Edward relationship he always says it in this matter-of-fact tone, like his word is law. It annoys me. He is not the supreme ruler of FMA and he has no right to try and influence the way the fandom runs.

He didn't actually say that he's the supreme ruler of FMA.
However, we know so little because we haven't took on the career of being VAs yet. But when your a VA of a certain character you are the one who the closet to him next to the person who orginally created him.
Vic speaks in a matter-of-fact tone because he feels that he's the closet one possible to speak for Edward. It's difficult to explain.

That's actually one of the reason I currently fear for the TRC fandom. Because Vic is the third closest to speak for Ed, first being Arakawa herself and second being Park Romi, now he'll be the sixth closest to speak for Fai and I think he'll influence a lot of new fans coming into the fandom. And he won't be influencing them in a positive way. gonk

He was asked about their relationship when the first two episodes premiered at NY Comicon and he responded, "If there's one thing Fai and I have in common it's that we both like girls." Pssh. Yay right.

I hope the new TRC fans read the manga if they like the anime enough.
I usually read the manga first but FMA's one of the few exceptions where I got into the anime first.
Oh dear lord, how could he lead the fans on like that.
I wonder what's going to happen when the Kurogane x Fai fans start bombarding him with all the Kurogane x Fai stuff.

That's about as far as I go as far as stalking. sweatdrop Actually, there was a filler episode in season two that was supposed to imply FaiChii and it's one of the reasons CLAMP did not like the anime. :/ In the manga, though, they are up to chapter 146 and she's had a totally of nine pages. NINE. Though she'll be having more now since the Ceres Arc is beginning. But so will Ashura so PWNED.
