In some ways this calculator is a bit too simplistic. The two main sources of carbon drain are use of personal vehicular transportation and electricity for powering homes. I'm not sure how it is calculating home energy use, which can vary a lot form home to home. There are places you can go online to compare the energy use of your home to others in the area, but I haven't looked at them myself. I only know that when my dad calculated the energy use of our house compared to neighbors, we were signifigantly below them and thus spent signifigantly less on energy bills!

yeah I see what you are saying, I think it is taking the average of most appliances and houses ect
